(December 8 — Chicago) As Americans prepare for a Christmas season like no other, with fear of the Covid-19 pandemic still gripping the nation, pro-life advocates are offering a message of hope outside the nation’s abortion facilities. “More than any other factor, it’s fear that drives a woman to seek abortion. Fear for her future, fear of giving birth, even fear over her partners’ reaction to her pregnancy,” said Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League. “These fears have only been compounded by the Covid pandemic and resulting economic downturn. That’s why we’re bringing a message of hope to abortion clinics with a project we call Peace in the Womb Christmas Caroling.”

Throughout the month of December, pro-life groups across the country will visit abortion facilities to sing familiar carols that highlight the Christmas message of hope. “Christmas is all about the joy and hope that come into the world with the birth of a child,” Scheidler explained. “These carols call on us to make room in our hearts for the weak and vulnerable — to cast aside fear and find joy in the face of a newborn baby.”

This will be the seventh year that Scheidler and the Pro-Life Action League have coordinated pro-life Christmas caroling at abortion facilities throughout the country. The impact of these caroling tours has been profound — including women choosing to cancel abortion appointments when they heard carols like “Silent Night.” Three babies are known to have been saved from abortion during last year’s caroling days.

Scheidler continued, “I can’t think of anything more sorrowful than getting an abortion at Christmastime, and forever being reminded of that choice when the Christmas decorations start going up again year after year. We all have enough bad memories of 2020. We want to spare any woman from adding abortion regret to this year’s litany of sorrows.”

Most of the caroling tours will be held on December 19, including two traveling tours being hosted by the Pro-Life Action League in the Chicago area. The complete list of dates and locations is available at ProLifeAction.org [https://prolifeaction.org/event/caroling2020/].

About the Pro-Life Action League

The Pro-Life Action League was founded by Joe Scheidler in 1980 with the aim of saving babies from abortion through direct action, and is now headed by Joe’s son, Eric. Not content to await a political or judicial solution to abortion, the League seeks to stop the killing of unborn children right now through all available peaceful means, including public protest, sidewalk counseling, education, youth outreach, and national leadership.
