Last Friday, my assistant Matt and I were the grateful recipients of a truck-load of much-needed furniture for the Pro-Life Action League’s Aurora office, donated by Chris and Mary Anne Yep of Triune Health Group.

I first met the Yeps shortly after the first Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally last March in Chicago, which they attended. The event inspired them both to launch a religious freedom initiative at their parish—at the first meeting of which I spoke—and to file suit against the federal government over the HHS Mandate.

As devout Catholics, Chris and Mary Anne strongly object to being forced to provide free contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs through their employee health plan—part of a benefits package so outstanding that it helped earn them the title of “Best Workplace for Women” from Crain’s Chicago business.

The Yeps spoke about their lawsuit to a crowd of thousands at the third Chicago Stand Up Rally back in October. They have continued to promote religious freedom and fight the HHS Mandate at the local and national level, including during an appearance with me on the Significant Insights program on Total Living Network with host Jerry Rose.

I ran into Chris and Mary Anne at the Rose Dinner after this year’s March for Life and mentioned that Matt and I had moved into a new, larger office in Aurora. They asked if I needed any furniture, since they had a great deal available after a recent office consolidation. I enthusiastically accepted their offer!

Matt and Mary Anne worked out which of the available furniture would work out best for us, and then we joined our friend Steve Klaske and the Yeps’ sons Peter and David last Friday to haul everything from the Triune office in Oak Brook to our new space in Aurora.

The Yeps’ generous donation included four desks—including comfortable desk chairs—two book cases, a conference table and several smaller seminar tables with chairs, a media cart, a multi-tray copier and several smaller appliances. The League’s new office really got a tremendous boost, thanks to Chris and Mary Anne Yep!
