Rallies against the So-Called “War on Women” to be Held Saturday

Stop the War on Unborn WomenThis Saturday, April 28, a coalition of pro-choice groups are sponsoring “Unite Against the War on Women” rallies at several cities across the country.

Among the sponsors are the National Organization for Women, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, and a group called “Rock the Slut Vote” — not to be confused with a group called “This Slut Votes,” which is also a sponsor.

The UniteWomen.org “About Us” page informs us that the idea for the rallies originated February 19 — a mere nine days after the Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society announced that the Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom in opposition to the HHS Mandate would be held on March 23.

Who’s Telling Who to “Teach Science”?

The UniteWomen.org website is nothing if not a panoply of the bizarre.

If you go to the homepage, the first thing you’ll notice is a series of rotating pictures, one of which is:

Oh, the irony!

This from the side of the abortion debate that repeatedly refuses to acknowledge the scientific fact that the life of a new human being begins at conception.

“Pro-Choice” Onesies for Babies and Other Wares

It gets even stranger at their online store, where you can buy this onesie for your baby:

Why do I get the feeling these aren’t going to be big sellers?

Also for sale are T-shirts with these words:

Crassly mocking the Bible like this really makes UniteWomen.org’s claim to “strongly [support] diversity and [welcome] men and women of all ages without regard to their … religious or spiritual beliefs” ring a bit hollow — as if anyone ever believed that to begin with.

They also have T-shirts for men, like this one:

Yes, because, you know, nothing says, “Take me seriously!” like Comic Sans typeface.

Bring Your Own “Cardboard Uterus”

Because the so-called “Unite Women” campaign has no clear message or purpose, it will be interesting to see what transpires at this Saturday’s various rallies.

At the rally in Chicago — originally scheduled to be held downtown at Daley Plaza, then moved to Washington Park, and now, for the moment at least, is scheduled to be held in Lincoln Park — one thing to be on the lookout for is cardboard uteruses.

Yes, really:

You can’t make this stuff up!
