Pro-Lifers Swarm Finance Committee’s Phone Lines
The senators on the Finance Committee have been overwhelmed by phone calls-I know, because I kept getting busy signals, messages saying their phone lines were full, and getting put on hold for minutes at a time. Pro-lifers really lit up the phone lines, showing they don’t want their tax dollars paying for abortions.
As of the recording of this hotline, we don’t know whether the Finance Committee has voted to include these amendments or not. A New York Times article said it too close to call, but said that pro-lifers looked like they had great momentum. Please continue to pray that these amendments will be included.
Franks: Obama Is Enemy Of Humanity
Representative Trent Franks of Arizona didn’t pull any punches when speaking of Obama at the “How To Take Back America Conference” last weekend. Franks told those assembled:
Obama’s first act as president of any consequence, in the middle of a financial meltdown, was to send taxpayers’ money overseas to pay for the killing of unborn children in other countries. Now I gotta tell you, a president that will do that, here’s almost nothing that you should be surprised at after that. You shouldn’t, we shouldn’t be shocked that he does all these other insane things. A president that has lost his way that badly, that has no ability to see the image of God in these little fellow human beings, if he can’t do that right, then he has no place in any station of government and we need to realize that he is an enemy of humanity.
Franks has amended this statement to say he meant to say Obama is an enemy of unborn humanity . . . I think it’s too bad he backed away from his original wording.
Planned Parenthood Doesn’t Care Who Does Your Abortion
In case anyone tries to tell you that Planned Parenthood is moderate—and not evil—let them know that in Arizona, Planned Parenthood is trying to block enforcement of a new law that says only physicians may perform surgical abortions.
Planned Parenthood wants them to continue to be done by “nurse-practitioners with specialized training,” (among others, likely). An article from the Women’s Health Channel says typical duties of nurse practitioner are prescribing medications, giving immunizations, and maybe even giving a pap smear. It seems to me like performing major surgery in a very delicate part of a woman’s body is above the pay-grade of a nurse practitioner.
Of course, if you’ve ever read our Meet The Abortion Providers testimonies, you know that abortionists don’t care about anything but the money. More abortions by less highly paid staff equals more money for Planned Parenthood. A judge is expected to rule on the provision by Wednesday.
