Planned Parenthood Ashamed of Abortion

On today’s hotline we mourn the loss of devoted pro-life activist Ken Crocco. He died on Sunday, December 7 after battling cancer. Ken was father to ten children. He often brought a car full of them with while he counseled at the Albany Abortion Mill-together they saved many babies. Now that he is in the presence of God, I hope He is able to see the lives he touched and the babies he saved. He was the proud recipient of a Pro-Life Action League “Dirty Dozen” Activist Award back in the days when we had banquets.

Please pray for the repose of his soul and for comfort for his wife and children. The visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8pm at St. Joseph Church in Harvard. His funeral Mass will be Friday December 12 at 11am at St. Joseph’s.

Planned Parenthood Is Ashamed Of Their Abortions

Planned Parenthood is America’s largest abortion chain-and they’re increasingly ashamed of this fact. How can we tell? Well they just released their end of the year report to their supporters and in it they play up their political advocacy and their promotion of birth control.

But nowhere will you see how many abortions they performed this year. Like they did during their recent Gift Certificate controversy, they will tell you that abortion is only 3% of their business. But I’ve done the math on this one and it doesn’t quite work out that way.

According to their most recent annual report, PP sees 3 million clients and performs 264,000 abortions-that means 8.6% of their clients have abortions in a given year. In case that doesn’t sound too substantial to you, let me remind you that the average abortion costs $372. With 200,000 abortions each year, that’s 74 million dollars going into PP each year just because of abortion.

And do you remember the infamous “I Had An Abortion” t-shirt controversy? While some tried to defend the shirts, most backed away as quickly as possible. You’ll notice the shirt is no longer available at their store. Defenders blamed pro-lifers for making the subject “increasingly off limits,”-as if murdering your unborn baby is only in poor taste because we say it is.

Women don’t celebrate their abortions: they mourn them. And now even America’s largest abortion chain is trying to pretend they don’t love the way abortion fattens their pocketbooks.

Mass at Federal Plaza for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

I hope those of you in the Chicagoland area will join us on Friday for the Mass honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe. Today is the feast of St. Juan Diego, when Our Lady first appeared to him, asking him to build her a church. She appeared with a black ribbon around her waist-the traditional way in St. Juan Diego’s culture for showing that a woman was pregnant. This is why we honor her as Patroness of the Unborn.

Although the weather today is pretty yucky, Our Mother will hear our prayers and bless us with a beautiful day, I am sure. So continue to pray for a nice day and join the League, the Thomas More Society, the Archdiocese of Chicago Respect Life Office, the Office for Hispanic Catholics, and the Office for Peace and Justice as Bishop Gustavo celebrates mass at Federal Plaza at noon on Friday. Show Chicago that the Catholic faith is alive and well-and that our First Amendment gives us the right to celebrate our faith in public!
