Man Tries to Run Over 40 Days For Life Group

40 Days for Life is doing terrific. I am constantly receiving emails about babies who are saved! In fact a devoted sidewalk counselor just dropped by our office to tell us that two babies were saved from second-trimester abortions today alone!

Man Drives Over The Curb–40 Days Pray-ers Unharmed

Our success angers the pro-aborts and the devil, though. In Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jason Bryant Shireman drove his suburban over the curb, almost hitting three students who were praying there. Shireman apparently told the police “that he drove onto the sidewalk to show the demonstrators ‘what he thought about them.’ [But] he denied trying to run over them.” If that makes sense to you, please let me know.

Americans Don’t Know Doe

A survey by James Davison Hunter, a sociologist from the University of Virginia, found that “the vast majority of Americans believe Roe allows more restrictions than it actually does.” Unfortunately people are completely ignorant of Roe’s companion case, Doe v. Bolton. So Roe says a state may restrict abortion during the second and third trimesters-except if the woman’s health is at risk. Then Bolton defines health as “all factors –physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman’s age — relevant to the wellbeing of the patient. All these factors may relate to health. This allows the attending physician the room he needs to make his best medical judgment.” According to Hunter’s study, this allows for the death of about 400 second- and third-trimester preborn babies each day. And most Americans don’t even know it.

Kemp-Kasten Amendment Prevents Tax Dollars From Funding Forced Abortion

Dr. Kent Hill, the assistant administrator for Global Health, has “banned cooperation with UK-based Marie Stopes International” (Planned Parenthood’s international arm) because it is “complicit in ‘coercive abortion and involuntary sterilizations’ in China. This is a continuation of the policies of pro-life president George W. Bush who refused to fund UNFPA on the same grounds.

The ability to restrict funding is based upon the Kemp-Kasten Amendment. Ronald Reagan was the first to deny funding to pro-abortion groups using the Amendment. Because the executive branch is responsible for the implementation of laws that the Congress has passed, it is only because we have a pro-life president that Dr. Hill was able to prevent our tax dollars from going to pro-abortion institutions.
