Despite All Efforts, Terri Is Being Starved To Death

According to Terri Schiavo’s mother, Mary Schindler, Terri is dying. In the latest plea Mary seemed almost desperate as she pleaded for the life of her daughter whom she sees trying to put on a brave front even after a week without food or water.

Terri’s Case Now Desperate

It seems that every effort that could be made has been made—local courts, local judges, county courts, the Governor of Florida devising a special bill, the state courts, the Federal courts, the Federal court en banc, Congress voting to save her, the President signing the bill. And still Terri is being starved to death.

The latest effort comes from Fr. Frank Pavone and it is indicative of the real emergency nature of this crime. Fr. Pavone of Priests for Life is asking those interested in joining him in urging the President, George Bush and Florida’s Governor Jeb Bush, to use their police powers to save Terri’s life by sending them into the hospice in Pinellas Park to take Terri into protective custody, restore her food and hydration, and arrest anyone who would try to interfere with this action.

This surely is a desperation move but it seems to be all that is left and if you consider that just about every effort to save her life so far has been a failure, perhaps this is all that remains. You can still call Governor Bush at 850-488-4441 or the Lieutenant Governor at 850 488-4711.

We’ve tried courts, Congress, the Governor, the President, the Appellate Court and have failed at every effort, as the time grows short.

There are already some powerful names on Fr. Pavone’s petition, such as Rev. Paul Schenck, Steve and Mike Peroutka, Fr. Tom Euteneuer, Rev. Greg Cox, and other admirable pro-lifers. It is merely a strong request, and a very polite one at that, but it may be the request that works.

To sign on call Joe at 703-928-9695 or send him an e-mail.

TV Appearance Thursday

We will be on Total Living Television with Dave Rose Thursday Evening at 8:30, though we hope you will be in Church. The discussion was the Value of Life versus the Quality of Life.

Schiavo Truth Day

The first Face the Truth Day of the year was a great success Wednesday. Instead of abortion signs, we distributed leaflets in downtown Chicago. The subject was Terri Schiavo and her plight, asking why so many pro-life Americans are fighting so hard to save the life of Theresa Marie Schiavo.

The flier answered several myths and presented an action section. We passed out nearly 5,000 of these leaflets all through the Loop area and North Michigan Avenue.

Courageous Activist Dies

We sadly report the death of long-time activist David Valdez, who bravely witnessed for the unborn despite a long battle with leukemia. Dave was a faithful sidewalk counselor at Concord abortion mill in downtown Chicago until its closing, and then at Family Planning Associates.

Dave will be waked at the Dieterly Funeral Home, 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery, IL, followed by a private funeral Mass. Please pray for the repose of his soul—may eternal rest be granted to him and my perpetual light shine upon him.

Last Hotline before Easter

This is our last Action News until Easter Monday. The rest of the week is the Holy Triduum and we will be spending quite a bit of time in Church, reading, reflecting and trying to become a better Catholic by medicating on the Passion and Death and Resurrection of Christ. We will pray for all our friends and benefactors and hope you to do the same for us and our work to save babies.

We won’t try to end this Newsline with any profound words of wisdom, because the Great Words we will be hearing and reading the next few days are the most profound ever written, the thoughts are the deepest ever thought, and we ask you to concentrate on them. That should be sufficient.

God Bless You and have a very Happy Easter.
