Congressmen Help Keep Abortion Out of Uruguay

Five U.S. Congressmen are being attacked by pro-abortion feminists for writing a letter to Uruguay’s Senate, warning them not to make the mistake of legalizing abortion. Co-signers of the letter are Mike Pence of Indiana, Steve King of Iowa, Todd Akin of Missouri, Joseph Pitts of Pennsylvania and Jo Ann Davis of Virginia. The appeal was initiated by Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey of the House Committee on International Relations.

The Uruguay House passed the abortion bill but the Senate rejected it 17 to 13. Some women’s groups are calling the letter a flagrant involvement in another country’s constitutional issues.

Congressman Smith says he hopes he played a small part in stopping Uruguay from becoming the first Latin American country, besides Cuba, to legalize abortion. He regularly talks with foreign ministers and lawmakers and believes he had a duty to talk to them about human rights.

Fr. Thomas Euteneuer of Human Life International denounced the feminists’ hypocrisy, saying they constantly badger legislators to vote for abortion, but can’t take it when someone fights against them.

Fired Pro-Life EMT Fights Back

In Chicago, emergency medical technician Stephanie Adamson was fired for refusing to drive a woman to an abortion mill. She has taken the ambulance company to court, charging them with religious discrimination.

Spain May Force MDs To Do Abortions

While 96% of Spanish Doctors refuse to do abortions, according to the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the newly elected liberal government of Spain is trying to pass legislation to force doctors to do them. Doctors who would not do abortions would lose their medical licenses.

The Spanish law now allows abortion up to 12 weeks for any reason. Spain has one of the lowest fertility rates in Europe. Catholic Europe seems to be dying.

The Roots of Gay “Marriage”

A rarity a few years ago, now almost daily we come across stories and pictures of gay so-called marriages. The secular gay-rights media can’t seem to show us enough of this insanity. Still, you can’t fool Mother Nature and you can’t fool God. So far, only Massachusetts recognizes these fake marriage while 38 states have laws against same-sex marriage, four have amendments prohibiting them, and seven, plus D.C., don’t have laws yet.

Rev. Vernon Lyons of Orland Park remarks, “If we accept same-sex marriage we may as well discard our rationality and accept square circles, dry rain, loud silence, low skyscrapers, pure adultery, honest lying and good murder.”

Peter Kemp writes that it actually started with the Lambeth Conference in 1930 when the Church of England became the first major Christian denomination to accept the use of contraceptives. At that time a Washington Post editorial warned that this decision “would sound the death knell of marriage as a holy institution by establishing degrading practices which would encourage indiscriminate immorality.”
