October 23, 1995—The League confronts Catholic pro-abortion Congressman Luis Gutierrez during a town hall meeting at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Chicago. After Gutierrez’s repeated refusals to answer questions from pro-lifers, League Director Joe Scheidler decides disruption is the only avenue left and calls out, “Why do you vote to kill babies?” Joe’s interruption stalls Gutierrez’ talk for 20 minutes, while police are called in to remove the pro-lifers from the building.
