Paul HillToday in League HistoryJuly 31, 1994—Two days after Paul Hill shoots and kills abortionist John Britton and his bodyguard, League Director Joe Scheidler continues to be flooded with interview requests from across the country, including the New York Times and Newsweek. An article in US News and World Report reports on Joe’s shock and surprise at Hill’s actions. Joe had tried for years to convince Hill to abandon his “justifiable homicide” ideas, but had believed it when Hill said the theory was merely academic and he would never act on it.
