A disturbing story out of Flossmoor, Illinois puts the lie to the myth recently repeated by Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz that abortion keeps women “safe”.
The story, told by 911 audio and police bodycam footage obtained by the Pro-Life Action League in the video below, is of a woman whose boyfriend threatened to shoot her if she didn’t go through with an abortion:
In response, Pro-Life Action League communications director Matt Yonke offers the following statement:
This account of a woman threatened by her boyfriend with a gun to get an abortion she did not want is a chilling reminder of the epidemic of unwanted abortion in our country.
According to new research, nearly 70% of women surveyed who had had abortions said those abortions were inconsistent with their values, unwanted, or even coerced.
Here in Flossmoor, we see that sad reality play out before the cameras. Far from keeping women safe, easy access to abortion leaves women vulnerable to men who will use violence to get rid of the consequences of their actions—even when it’s not what the woman wants.
