Lutheran General HospitalToday in League HistoryMay 16, 1988—League staffer Tim Murphy visits Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois (pictured right), as part of the League’s ongoing protest of abortions there. Tim distributes leaflets to hospital patients and staff, exposing the fact that this “Christian” hospital performs “selective reduction” abortions, abortions of babies with Downs Syndrome and abortions on underage girls. Despite the protest effort, the hospital would continue to perform these abortions.
