Mass at Daly PlazaToday in League HistoryDecember 12, 2008—Despite arctic temperatures, 400 Catholics attend the first ever Mass at Chicago’s Federal Plaza in honor of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Mass is co-sponsored by the League and the Archdiocese of Chicago, with help from the Thomas More Society Pro-Life Law Center in securing the necessary permits for this extraordinary example of the free exercise of religion in the public square. Auxiliary Bishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller celebrates the Mass.
