October 22, 1985—League Director Joe Scheidler pickets Warren Hern’s abortion clinic in Colorado while in town for a speaking engagement. Hern (pictured to the right giving an interview during the protest) is infamous for inventing the “Hern forceps” and for writing a book “Abortion Practice,” which describes his abortion methods in detail and encourages fellow abortionists to become involved, well-liked members of their communities in order to improve the public image of abortionists.
