September 15, 2007—The week-long Jericho March concludes in Aurora, Illinois, with 1,000 people marching in prayer around the 1.25 mile block in which a massive new Planned Parenthood abortuary is situated. The previous day, the City of Aurora sought to block the finale in federal court, claiming that it constituted an illegal “residential picket,” since the march circuit included a short stretch of sidewalk in the neighborhood behind the building. Judge Virginia Kendall denied the motion, and the whole episode served only to increase media interest in the event, which is heavily covered by TV, radio and print media.
