Jean PetermanToday in League HistoryAugust 1, 1987—During the League’s peaceful pro-life picket at Biogenetics abortion clinic in Chicago, the clinic guard is arrested for blocking a woman from entering the business next door. At another picket later in the day at the Oak Park home of Jean Peterman, head of the Illinois Pro-Choice Alliance pictured to the left, the League group are themselves threatened with arrest for violating an ordinance restricting residential picketing, despite the fact that such ordinances had been ruled unconstitutional by the United States Supreme Court.
