Stations of the Cross on Good Friday

Pro-lifers pray the stations of the cross at Planned Parenthood AuroraOn April 10, Good Friday, over 120 pro-lifers gathered outside of Planned Parenthood Aurora to pray “The Way of the Cross for Victims of Abortion.” The Way of the Cross is a traditional Catholic prayer that remembers the suffering and death of Jesus in His passion. This version also includes prayers for the women, unborn babies and everyone else touched by the pain of abortion. This was a particularly appropriate prayer for Good Friday and even more poignant outside an abortion mill. The faithful gathered on the corner of Oakhurst and New York and followed the stations which were staked in the ground all the way around the vacant lot to the spot across from the entrance to Planned Parenthood where our sidewalk counselors stand. High winds whipped across the lot and threatened to knock some of the stations down as Father Cesar Pajarillo of St. Rita of Cascia parish in Aurora led the stations and imparted his blessing on the faithful. Many of those present were visiting Planned Parenthood Aurora for the first time to pray the stations and were very encouraged by the prayer. After the stations, the Pro-Life Action League’s Eric Scheidler shared some words of encouragement and gave out copies of the League’s new “Sharing the Pro-Life Message” handbook, which is available free at FreeProlifeHanbook.com. Thanks to all who came to pray and especially to Father Cesar for blessing us with his leadership.
