Chicago, Ill—The Pro-life Action League will sponsor the 2009 “Face the Truth” tour beginning this Friday, July 10 and running through Saturday July 18. Participants and pro-life activists will visit sites throughout Chicagoland holding graphic pictures of unborn and aborted babies while handing out pamphlets to passersby. Their mission is to help Americans better understand the reality of abortoin and, in the end, to help save babies.
“The power of signs is undeniable,” says Eric Scheidler, the League’s executive director. “Last year during the tour, two volunteers were flagged over to a woman in a car who explained that her pregnant teenage daughter decided not to have an abortion after seeing the graphic images. This kind of direct impact is what the tour is all about: saving babies, one life at a time.”
The Pro-life Action League encourages all who believe that America must face the reality of abortion to stand up and be counted. The tour will stop at the following locations in the Chicagoland area:
- July 10—Joliet, Shorewood
- July 11—Niles, Evanston, Lincolnwood
- July 13—Downtown Chicago (Kennedy Overpass, Daley Plaza, Union and Ogilvie Stations)
- July 14—Downtown Chicago (Buckingham Fountain, Art Institute, Union Station)
- July 15—Lake Zurich, Palatine, Arlington Heights
- July 16—Bridgeview, Chicago Ridge, Burbank
- July 17—Chicago: Garfield Ridge, McKinley Park, Pilsen
- July 18—Aurora, Naperville
Nationwide, “Face the Truth” tours are tearing the mask off of “choice” and turning Americans against abortion.
“Yes, our signs are quite graphic,” continued Scheidler. “But that’s because abortion is ugly. This is the truth. These images ought to disturb us, because the killing of an unborn baby in her mother’s womb is a horribly disturbing reality that takes place over 3,400 times per day in our country. These pictures expose the lies of abortion providers like Planned Parenthood and show the human cost of abortion.. Once people have faced the truth, they are less likely to become involved in abortion.”
