(Chicago, Ill.)—On Wednesday, the Pro-Life Action League will protest what it calls Illinois’ version of the Freedom of Choice Act.

While Planned Parenthood of Illinois hosts a community forum at Eola Community Center in Aurora, Ill., in support of the proposed Reproductive Justice and Access Act of Illinois, PLAL, which has opposed the Aurora Planned Parenthood since it opened in 2007, will be standing outside the center to speak out against it.

“The Reproductive Justice and Access Act is one of the most pro-abortion, anti-family bills being pushed anywhere in the United States,” said Eric Scheidler, PLAL communications director. “If made law, it would cement Illinois’ status as the abortion capital of the Midwest.”

PLAL and other members of the community, including Aurora Alderman Rick Lawrence, say Planned Parenthood should not be using the public facility for the forum considering that they not allowed some members of the community who are pro-life to register for it.

Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of abortions, has been holding meetings throughout Illinois in support of the RJAA since the bill was stymied in committee last spring following a statewide pro-life telephone and letter campaign.
