This November in California, voters will have the chance to pass Sarah’s Law, which would require parental notification if a minor girl under the age of 18 wants an abortion. The vast majority of Americans support parental notification laws—even many who call themselves “pro-choice”—and states that have passed these laws have seen a reduction in abortions among minor girls [PDF]. Christina at Real Choice summed it up:
If it’s about “choice”, there’s no excuse for anybody — except sexual predators and people who profit from sexual abuse of underage girls — to oppose Sarah’s Law.
