Charges Dropped Against Maryland Pro-Lifers

In case you haven’t yet heard, all charges against the 18 pro-life activists in Maryland have been dropped.

Charges Dropped Against 18 Pro-Life Activists in Maryland

Jack Ames, the director of Defend Life, said in his interview with LifeSiteNews: “This decision by the State of Maryland to drop the charges shows that our side of the story was the true story…There were no traffic jams. There were no people running in and out of traffic. There was no refusal to disperse. They plainly and simply violated our First Amendment rights!”

New Pro-Life Movie: 22 Weeks

Have you heard of the movie 22 Weeks? It is based on the true story of a woman seeking an abortion in Florida at 22 weeks gestation. When her child, Baby Rowan, was born alive after a failed abortion attempt, his mother asked the clinic staff to call 911 and to help her save her baby. They ignored her requests. The premier was this weekend; so far it has a limited release, but the producers hope to sell the movie online soon. This can be a great tool for pro-lifers to generate discussion with their fence sitting friends. Visit their website at for more information.

APA Says Abortion Doesn’t Hurt Women, Even Though It Does

Perhaps you’ve heard about the new study from the American Psychological Association. They’ve concluded that abortion doesn’t hurt women.

But remember that the APA has been wrong before. In 1999, APA researchers found that sexual abuse of children doesn’t harm them psychologically. The New York Times interviewed the researchers about their study of abused children. These researchers were quick to note that “lack of harmfulness does not imply lack of wrongfulness”.

Now let’s apply that same logic to abortion: even if abortion didn’t harm women psychologically—which it does—it would still be morally wrong!

New Language in Dems’ Abortion Platform?

And finally, have you seen the new proposed language of the Democratic Party’s abortion platform? Obama tells pro-lifers that he has added pro-life language to the platform, showing support for carrying a pregnancy to term.

That’s funny, because NARAL’s blog calls it “Pro-Choice Perfection”.

You decide:

The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v Wade and a woman’s right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right. The Democratic Party also strongly supports access to affordable family planning services and comprehensive age-appropriate sex education which empower people to make informed choices and live healthy lives. We also recognize that such health care and education help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and thereby also reduce the need for abortions. The Democratic Party also strongly supports a woman’s decision to have a child by ensuring access to and availability of programs for pre and post natal health care, parenting skills, income support, and caring adoption programs.

What do you think? Pro-Life or “pro-choice perfection”?
