Bill Clinton Goes Berserk

On February 13, League attorneys filed a zoning case [PDF] against Planned Parenthood and the City of Aurora Illinois State Court. This filing comes a month after the Aurora Zoning Board of Appeals refused to hear the case.

The case, brought by five residents of the nearby Oakhurst neighborhood and Fox Valley Families Against Planned Praenthood, will finally call Planned Parenthood to task for their lies and deceit. League Communications Director and FVFAPP organizer Eric Scheidler remarked, “The City will be forced to admit what they knew when, and PP will be forced to give an account for their lies to City officials and the community.”

Thomas Brejcha and Peter Breen of the Thomas More Society Pro-Life Law Center in Chicago in Chicago, which is representing residents in the case, explain that the rights of Aurora citizens have been violated in three ways:

  1. Planned Parenthood’s deceit (perhaps with the City’s complicity) robbed citizens of their basic right to establish the kind of community they wish to live in. City law demands citizens be informed when businesses like PP come into town, but PP skirted those laws.
  2. By robbing citizens of any voice in determining what kind of community Aurora would become, citizens’ freedom of speech was violated.
  3. Finally, citizens were robbed of the protection meant to be afforded them under the city zoning code. You and I don’t have the resources to stop PP from putting abortion centers wherever they want to. That’s what the zoning code is for, but when PP lies and the city looks the other way, a higher governmental authority must be called to action.

We are very excited to finally have the facts of this case brought into the cold light of day where they belong.

Edrica Goode, 1985-2007

The Thomas More Society is also currently representing Aletheia Goode, who is suing Planned Parenthood for malpractice in the death of her daughter Edrica just over one year ago.

One night last February, a 21-year-old college student named Edrica Goode fell severely ill. Aletheia and her sister, a registered nurse, couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her. Nor could the hospital where they took her.

Edrica was so incoherent the hospital even sent her for exam at a nearby mental facility, only to have her sent back. On Valentine’s Day 2007, Edrica died of a massive septic infection.

Aletheia later learned that on the morning of her illness, Edrica had gone to Planned Parenthood of Riverside, CA, where laminaria were inserted for a late term abortion procedure—despite her having a vaginal infection at the time. The laminaria acted as conductors of the local infection into Edrica’s entire bloodstream, killing her.

Aletheia had a memorial for Edrica placed in papers on February 14.

Please remember Edrica and her family in your prayers.

Bill Clinton Loses His Temper, Blasts Pro-Life Students

Students for Life of America was among the first to report that Bill Clinton lost his temper at a public rally in Steubenville, OH on Sunday after being met by over 100 pro-life students.

Students for Life provides a transcript of the exchange, which is also available for viewing on YouTube, where, as of this writing, it has already been viewed over 400,000 times:

“I gave you the answer. We disagree with you,” Clinton said. “You wanna criminalize women and their doctors and we disagree. I reduced abortion. Tell the truth, tell the truth, If you were really pro-life, if you were really pro-life, you would want to put every doctor and every mother as an accessory to murder in prison. And you won’t say you wanna do that because you know, that you wouldn’t have a lick of political support. Now, the issue is who, the issue is, you can’t name me anybody presently in politics that did more to introduce policies that reduce the number of real abortions instead of the hot air putting out to tear people up and make votes by dividing America. This is not your rally. I heard you. That’s another thing you need is a president, somebody who will stick up for individual rights and not be pushed around, and she won’t.”

An ABC News reporter commented, “He was so angry, we, in the press, couldn’t keep up with what he was saying.”

One wonders how long pro-abortion politicians think they can get away with claiming that pro-lifers want to jail women who have abortions. It’s a non-starter, and they know it.

SFLA Executive Director Kristan Hawkins commented on Clinton’s outburst:

Our generation is pro-life. It is amazing that these pro-abortion politicians think that they can continuously support the killing of millions of unborn children and no one will express their dissatisfaction. They think they don’t ever have to answer questions about their pro-abortion policies or the money they receive from pro-abortion lobbying organizations. This generation will no longer tolerate these types of politicians, their rhetoric, or their pro-death policies.

Kudos to you, Kristan. We couldn’t have said it any better.
