Editor’s Note: Because the Pro-Life Action League’s fierce battle with Planned Parenthood over their new “Abortion Fortress” in Aurora, Illinois has disrupted regular publication of Action News, we offer here a recap of the other activities of the League over the past year.
- August 7, 2007—GFL Director Annie Casselman speaks to the Alpha Omega Teens for Life in Byron, IL. After the meeting, Annie is treated to a surprise baby shower (her second daughter, Emma Jane, is born ten days later).
- October 11, 2007—GFL Co-Director John Jansen speaks at a meeting of the new Spartans for Life club at St. Francis High School in Wheaton, IL. He then meets with a group of freshmen at Wheaton College to discuss abortion and the pro-life movement.
- October 16, 2007—John gives GFL’s “Pro-Life 101” presentation to the pro-life club at Resurrection High School in Chicago.
- October 17, 2007—John gives a presentation titled “Don’t Trust Planned Parenthood” to fifty teens at St. Peter Parish in Geneva, IL.
- October 30, 2007—John speaks to the Catholic Student Group at Northeastern University in Chicago about abortion and the pro-life movement.
- November 4, 2007—John gives his “Effective Pro-Life Dialogue” presentation to junior high students at a youth rally at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Crystal Lake, IL.
- December 4, 2007—John meets with the officers of the new Students for Life group at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.
- January 22, 2008—John joins League staff at March for Life in Washington, DC.
- January 27, 2008—John gives “Effective Pro-Life Dialogue” presentation to the St. Matthew’s Parish youth group in Glendale Heights.
- February 2, 2008—Former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino and Life Training Institute’s Scott Klusendorf are the keynote speakers at GFL’s annual TeenSpeak conference in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
- February 21, 2008—John gives a Chastity talk to 8th graders at Huron Valley Catholic School in Ypsilanti, MI.
- February 22, 2008—John joins Sisters Catherine and John Mary of Sisters of Life to speak about the pro-life movement at the Here I Am Lord Conference in Elgin, IL.
- February 25, 2008—John gives “Pro-Life 101” presentation to classes at Proviso West H. S. in Hillside, IL.
- March 2 & 16, 2008—Annie gives two Chastity talks at St. Mary’s Parish in Durand, IL.
- March 14, 2008—John gives “Effective Pro-Life Dialogue” presentation to the new Apostles for Life club at Sacred Heart Parish in Lombard, IL.
- April 2, 2008—Annie gives a Chastity talk at St. Mary’s Parish in Sycamore, IL.
- April 16, 2008—Annie gives a Chastity talk to 7th and 8th graders at Notre Dame Parish in Clarendon Hills, IL.
- May 7, 2008—John gives a Chastity talk to the Fortress youth group at Aurora Central Catholic H.S. in Aurora, IL.
- May 16, 2008—Annie gives her “Effective Pro-Life Dialogue” presentation to the Rockford Teens for Life.
- May 27, 2008—John gives a Chastity talk to 7th and 8th graders at St. John Vianney School in Northlake, IL.
- June 3, 2008—John speaks about abortion and the pro-life movement to classes at Farragut Career Academy in Chicago.
- June 13, 2008—John gives a talk on stem cell research to the Apostles for Life Club in Lombard, IL.
