Mel Gibson’s long-awaited film on the last twelve hours of the life of Jesus Christ, The Passion of the Christ opened in theaters across the country on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 25. League National Director Joe Scheidler was privileged to see an advance showing of the film in November and offered some comments on the film’s powerful impact.
As pro-life activists, we are particularly enthusiastic about this film for its unapologetic use of disturbing graphic images to reveal the truth. In defending of our street-corner Face the Truth campaigns we have always linked the necessity for Christians to behold the public scandal of Christ cruficied to our public display of abortion pictures.
