This past weekend the Pro-Life Action League participated in the Archdiocese of Chicago‘s Festival of Faith on Navy Pier with three different booths in the exhibition area. Besides the main League booth, our Helpers of God’s Precious Infants and Generations for Life branches had booths at the Festival.
Among the many pieces of literature passed out during the Festival was a special flyer on Catholic teaching on the sanctity of life and how faithful Catholics can get involved in defending the unborn and helping women with crisis pregnancies choose life. The flyer featured one of the most moving passages from Pope John Paul II’s encyclical Evangelium Vitae (#61):

All human beings, from their mother’s womb, belong to God who searches them and knows them, who forms them and knits them together with his own hands, who gazes on them when they are tiny shapeless embryos and already sees in them the adults of tomorrow.
Over thirty-five hundred copies of this flyer were distributed.
The weekend afforded a great opportunity for our Generations youth outreach division to get information on pro-life clubs to the parochial school teachers and administrators attending on Friday. Hundreds of the new Generations for Life brochure were handed out.
