From Saturday, April 26 through Wednesday, April 30 Obstetricians and Gynecologists holding their 51st Annual Clinical Meeting in New Orleans will be confronted by pro-life street preachers from all across the nation to challenge the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) for its militant pro-abortion stand.
Pro-Lifers To Confront Ob/Gyns Convention
The convention is being held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center where Dr. Patrick Johnston of Heath Ohio will confront the largest group of U.S. health care practitioners providing care for women in the US. ACOG has endorsed the most radical pro-abortion position possible, including opposition to any legal restrictions on late term abortions at all.
Dr. Johnson points out to pro-lifers across the nation that join in his protest along with Evangelist Jason Storms, they may be able to confront more pro-abortionists at this one event that they have in their whole life in front of abortion mills. Storms says the Christians of New Orleans will be out in force to hold baby killers accountable for their actions and to resent the message of repentance and salvation to the most despicable of people, the abortion doctors. We wish we could be there.
The Unborn Baby’s Mind
A story in the Daily Telegraph out of England says a recent study shows that unborn babies develop consciousness long before the legal age that abortions are allowed to be performed in England, up to 24 weeks.
A Baroness Greenfield, a professor of neurology at Oxford University says there is evidence that the conscious mind of a baby has developed long before 24 weeks and while she is too chicken to even urge a change in the abortion laws, she does urge doctors to be cautious when they are killing babies.
Is the fetus conscious during an abortion? she asks. The answer is yes. While she backed off of saying she can prove the baby is aware of the abortion taking place, she says many neurologists are concerned that the baby can feel pain and should be anesthetized during later abortions, say, after 20 weeks.
She told a British Fertility Society meting in London that she has serious concerns about fetal consciousness. She says the Home Office has legislation applying to dogs and other mammals and that even octopi and mollusks are treated better than human babies.
She isn’t of course calling for any real relief, just caution. Perhaps she is thinking of the caution used by the English executioners when they used to hang, draw and quarter victims of crimes like being a priest during the reigns of Henry and Elizabeth.
Another Pregnant Woman Murdered
Here’s a case of true love for you. Jerry Lynn Stuart, 27, has been charged with first degree murder in the death of April Renee Greer, his eight-and-a-half-month pregnant girlfriend, found stuffed with her baby in a garbage can duck taped shut. Stuart may also be linked to another similar case involving a missing cellist, Janine Stuphen, who disappeared in January. Talk about sick.
Santorum under Fire
Poor old Senator Rick Santorum, Republican of Pennsylvania, is being pilloried for suggesting that:
If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. . .
You say, well, it’s my individual freedom. Yes, but it destroys the basic unit of our society because it condones behavior that is “antithetical to strong, healthy families.
Apparently Santorum also objected to the feminist movement built around the supposition that fathers are unnecessary and said liberalism rakes power away from the family. The basic liberal philosophy is materialistic and relativistic, to the point of having candidates for president saying we should condone different types of marriage. That is to me the death knell of the American family.
While Santorum didn’t even mention the word “gay” the gays have charged him with bigotry, and the ladies of the night, NOW called for all Republicans to denounce Santorum and ask him to resign from his leadership position as Republican Conference Chair. Santorum’s comments were made to the Associated Press and are right on target. We only wish he had used the world “gay” and for feminists mentioned NOW by name. But we can’t have everything. Anyhow we hope the good Senator doesn’t change one jot or one tittle of his statement and please, don’t apologize.
