League Keeps Busy With Dozens of Talks

The grass has not been growing under the feet of the Pro-life Action League. In the past few weeks Annie Scheidler and Mary Shine of Generations for Life, our youth outreach, have given nine talks and are getting more invitations to talk in high schools, almost more than they can schedule in the remaining months of school.

Busy Times for the Pro-Life Action League

Eric has just given three talks to adult groups in the past few weeks, and in the past two days in the Washington DC area your editor spoke at St. Martin of Tour in Gaithersburg, MD, did a radio show with Sandy Rios for Concerned Women of America in Washington, DC, spoke at St. Catherine of Sienna for the Knights of Columbus in Great Falls, VA, and did two half-hour segments of Steve Peroutka’s Face the Truth television program in Alexandria, VA.

Wednesday I speak at Purdue University and have two talks this weekend in the Chicago area. So we’re busy but delighted to see the new growth in interest and a return to activism of so many pro-life groups.

Laci Double Murder Charge Confounds NOW

Meanwhile, it also does our heart good to see the pro-aborts in such mass confusion. Take for instance the New Jersey chapter president of the National Organization for Women who denounced the double homicide charge facing Scott Peterson by saying, “If this is murder, referring to the killing of his unborn child, well, then any time a late term fetus is aborted, they could call it murder.”

I’ve never wanted to agree with a NOW member, but this lady has got it just right. NOW former resident Patricia Ireland actually says the case is one of a double murder. But Ireland is no longer the head of NOW so where does NOW really stand? So NOW advances and retreats at the very same moment. Some NOW chapters are simply making no comment.

Susan Konig of the National Review says NOW has strayed so far from their original intention to bring women into the mainstream that they have drifted into obsolescence or insanity, take your pick.

In this strange case prosecutors have already filed two murder charges Even Randall County district attorney James Farren says declaring the Lacy baby’s death a murder and not consider abortion murder, is an obvious contradiction. He says that in Texas the killing of the unborn child would not be considered a murder but in California it is. Stay tuned. This one isn’t going to go away soon.
