Minnesota Abortion Center to Close Next Month

Posted by Matt Yonke (November 29, 2011 at 12:03 pm)
Regions Hospital

Regions Hospital in MN, which will close its abortion center Dec. 9

One of the best tools in the fight to end abortion in America is making it unavailable.

As we found out when we infiltrated last year’s Medical Students for Choice conference, abortionists are already shaking in their boots because of the dwindling number of doctors performing abortions.

Closing down abortion centers makes it that much harder to obtain an abortion, and a long drive might be the last straw that makes a mother stick it out through a difficult pregnancy instead of going through with an abortion.

Well, we’re happy to report that one of only seven abortion facilities in the state of Minnesota will stop its deadly business early next month! [Continue reading ...]

Canadian Family Covers Up Incestuous Rape with Abortion

Posted by Matt Yonke (October 28, 2011 at 3:26 pm)

quicktakeLife Site News reports a story from Canada the details of which are far too graphic to post here. Read the original story at your own discretion.

In short, a father and mother covered up their incestuous relationship with their daughter by procuring an abortion and birth control pills for her when she became pregnant by her father at age 12 years old.

Georges Buscemi, president of Campagne Quebec-Vie, told Life Site:

Sexuality has become so trivialized in Quebec. We don’t even bat an eye when a 12-year-old gets pregnant. We don’t ask ‘who did she get pregnant with?’

Indeed, why didn’t the abortionist or the clinic staff ask the obvious questions? The same reason they never do: money. Asking questions just makes their dirty business more complicated than it already is.

Due to the abortion facility’s negligence, authorities were not alerted to the girl’s plight until she summoned the courage to tell a teacher at 13 years old.

And, of course, though unbelievably sad, this story is nothing new. It only adds to the pile of evidence provided by Live Action and Life Dynamics showing Planned Parenthood and other abortionists’ willingness to cover up heinous crimes against young girls.

As Buscemi put it, “Abortion is the ultimate recourse for hiding the evidence of pedophilia.”

Clinic Workers Dance as Botched Abortion Victim Rushed to Hospital

Posted by Matt Yonke (October 28, 2011 at 11:09 am)

The disturbing video below from the stalwarts at Pro-Life Wisconsin blew up when it was posted to HotAir.com yesterday. Take a look:

On Monday I received a call from Pro-Life Wisconsin looking for help acquiring the 911 call audio of this incident from the city. If they’re successful in obtaining that, I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about what happened to the poor woman in the ambulance soon. [Continue reading ...]

“Emergency Contraception”: A Failed Strategy

Posted by John Jansen (September 1, 2011 at 1:47 pm)

ecfailEric Scheidler’s post earlier this week shone a spotlight on Planned Parenthood’s failure to reduce unintended pregnancy in the U.S., despite receiving ever increasing taxpayer funding.

Following on his commentary, I thought it would be worth taking a closer look at another element of the seemingly endless “How can we reduce unintended pregnancy?” debate: namely, so-called emergency contraception (hereafter: EC).

1998 Prediction: EC Could Prevent 50% of Abortions and Unintended Pregnancies

Today I came across a press release dated September 2, 1998 from a company called Gynétics (which at the time was based in New Jersey, but is now based in Belgium). The release announced that the their product, Preven, had just become the “first FDA-approved product for emergency contraception that can prevent pregnancy when used within 72 hours” after sex.

The press release contained this comment from one Dr. Anita Nelson, an Ob/Gyn professor at UCLA:

It is estimated that nearly 50 percent of all abortions and unintended pregnancies in this country could be avoided if women had access to emergency contraception.

That’s no small prediction. And looking back, it’s turned out to be hopelessly wrong. [Continue reading ...]

Who’s Keeping an Eye on Abortion Clinics?

Ambulance at Planned Parenthood

Reading yesterday’s Chicago Tribune article about the lack of oversight of abortion clinics in Illinois, a couple things in particular stuck out in my mind:

Also unknown to officials are the types of abortion-related problems experienced by women. Nearly 4,000 reports of abortion complications involving Illinois residents in 2009 were missing the required description.

That’s nearly 4,000 complications in one state, in one year.

Even worse, the article highlighted the deaths of six (6) women, and in at least four of these cases, the abortion facilities “could not confirm” whether they had reported these deaths to the state, as required by law.

Unbelievably — or not, I suppose — Planned Parenthood “said it had no reason to believe the 2002 death [of Maurice Stevenson's wife] was not reported but that the records were in storage” [emphasis added].

The records were in storage? Seriously? [Continue reading ...]

How Is Planned Parenthood Spending Our Tax Dollars?

Posted by Corrina Gura (February 9, 2011 at 3:25 pm)
This Roanoke, Virginia, Planned Parenthood worker makes many excellent arguments in favor of cutting Planned Parenthood's tax funding.

This Roanoke, Virginia, Planned Parenthood worker makes many excellent arguments in favor of cutting Planned Parenthood's tax funding.

When pro-lifers question the fact that millions of our tax dollars are funding Planned Parenthood, the response is always the same old line. The topic came up in an interview about the new Live Action videos in an interview by Fox New’s Megyn Kelly of Nancy Skinner, a pro-abortion radio talk-show host:

Megyn (at 4:16) : Planned Parenthood does do some good, for young girls out there. You can take out the abortion situation because that’s just too firey for people to agree on. But they do do some good. …

Nancy (at 4:50): Planned Parenthood gets no money for abortions from the federal government. It is for reproductive health, for other matters. It’s called “Planned Parenthood.” They want to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

My tax dollars are going for “reproductive health” services at Planned Parenthood (America’s largest abortion chain.) But never fear, the pro-aborts tell me, my money funds the other “good” things they do, not the killing of babies.

“What good things,” you may ask? [Continue reading ...]

Another Chance to Catch Documentary Lauding Abortionist Tiller

Posted by Corrina Gura (November 24, 2010 at 9:54 am)

tiller

In case you missed it the first time around, MSNBC will be replaying their “documentary” of the death of Dr. George Tiller on Wednesday, November 24. (It’s also available on YouTube in several parts.)

To be honest, I missed the original airing of it and couldn’t understand why they’re showing this documentary now–it’s not an anniversary of anything, why show it in November?

I then found out that Rachel Maddow, documentary’s co-creator and narrator, was pleased the documentary “happened” to be debuting right before the elections, because she wanted pro-life candidates defeated. (It doesn’t seem to have helped her candidates much, does it?)

Any Pro-Life Activity Qualifies as Harassment

According to Maddow, “Harassment, intimidation, and violence shouldn’t be confused with the noble tradition of American protest — they’re crimes, and they should be investigated and prosecuted as such.”

William Wilberforce: His Battle Resonates with Ours

Posted by Corrina Gura (November 10, 2010 at 10:00 am)

wilberforce

In the pro-life movement we often draw parallels between the practices of slavery and abortion.

As I read a biography of William Wilberforce, who fought to ban the slave trade in Great Britain in the last 18th and early 19th Centuries, it struck me that the campaigns to ban these great historical evils also have a lot in common.

A Calling, Not a Choice

One thing that struck me was the way Wilberforce became involved in the campaign. It was not merely a choice he made. Rather, it was an unavoidable calling from God that must be answered. Wilberforce embraced his Christian faith not long after being elected to the House of Commons. As a result of his conversion, he began to question whether he should leave public life.

Understanding Our Opposition

Two undergraduate students at MIT, Colin McSwiggen and Fatima Hussain, recently wrote an op-ed for the school’s newspaper, the opening paragraph of which reads:

For as long as the United States government has existed, it has been shirking a critical moral obligation. We are talking, of course, about our nation’s failure to protect the right of every woman to receive an affordable abortion on demand.

As is clear from the opening paragraph, this opinion piece is barking mad.

But I do have to give the students credit on one thing: If you want to get your head around the “pro-choice” mindset and really understand what it is that makes them tick, McSwiggen and Hussain’s rather concise (887 word) opinion piece is as good an introduction as any you’ll find. Latest Attempt to Normalize Abortion Doomed to Fail

Posted by John Jansen (November 5, 2010 at 4:25 pm)

twitterabortionWriting in a November 4 Salon.com column, Tracy Clark-Flory begins:

Women are taking to Twitter with a blunt statement of fact: “I had an abortion.” In fact, so many are tweeting about their experience that the hashtag “#ihadanabortion” began trending on the site yesterday. It all started with a tweet from @IAmDrTiller: “Time for us to come out. Who’s had an abortion? Show antis we’re not intimidated by scare tactics. Use: #ihadanabortion.”

Clark-Flory acknowledges the “provocative” nature of women tweeting about their abortions, noting, “That’s the whole point, though — to take this private conversation public, to scrub the ‘a-word’ of stigma and shame.”

Campaigns like this that set out to normalize abortion are doomed to fail.

Why? Because they’ve always failed. And there’s no reason to believe things won’t be different this time. [Continue reading ...]
