In response to the “Walk for Choice” in Chicago sponsored Saturday by the Illinois Choice Action Team, over 200 members and friends of the Crusaders for Life teen pro-life club — many of whom belong to St. John Cantius Parish in Chicago — organized a Pro-Life Flash Mob in Daley Plaza to counter the event.
They then followed the same route as the pro-choicers, but on the opposite side of the street:

“Awesome!” “Really and truly a great experience!” “I loved it!”
These are just some of the comments that sum up the reaction of the 140 teens and adults who attended TeenSpeak 2011 on January 29—the largest crowd we’ve ever had at a TeenSpeak conference!
The day began with a fascinating talk by former Planned Parenthood counselor Linda Couri entitled “The Choice Driven Life”. With a unique perspective as a former abortion industry insider, Linda shared how she first got involved with Planned Parenthood out of a well-intentioned sense of compassion for women, but one that she later realized was deeply misguided. Now completely pro-life, Linda has come back to the Catholic faith, and now works with Project Rachel, the Church’s post-abortion ministry.
The audience loved Linda’s talk. Chloe Smith, a senior at Glenbard East High School, commented that it was “so interesting being able to hear about what goes on in the head of someone who worked at Planned Parenthood.” [Continue reading ...]
I’m proud to announce that the Pro-Life Action League will be joining a coalition of youth oriented pro-life groups like Students for Life of America and Rock for Life for the first annual National Pro-Life Youth Rally, to be held after the March for Life in Washington, DC, January 24. I will be one of the speakers at the event.
The rally will take place at 1st Street NE and D Street NE (map), only a couple of blocks from the Supreme Court building, where the March for Life concludes. The rally kicks off at 2:00 and again at 3:30 with music from award-winning Christian recording artists Barlow Girl. [Continue reading ...]

January 16, 2009—John Jansen (pictured left), co-director of the League’s youth outreach, Generations for Life, speaks at the first meeting of Crusaders for Life, a group of 60 pro-life teens based in Lombard, Illinois. Shortly thereafter the group would begin praying regularly outside Chicago area abortion clinics, saving several babies with their prayerful presence.

December 17, 1999—The League passes out hundreds of leaflets on fetal development at Chicago’s Lincoln Park High School as part of a new campaign to educate high school students on this crucial component lacking from high school curricula.

November 30, 1995—Loyola University student Annie Scheidler speaks to packed classrooms at Resurrection High School in Chicago during her first ever pro-life speaking engagement. Annie, fifth of League Directors Joe and Ann Scheidler’s seven children, would later found Generations for Life — the League’s youth outreach division — and speak to thousands of high school students about pro-life and chastity.

November 19, 2009—John Jansen, co-director of the League’s youth outreach, Generations for Life, passes out 1,000 “Precious Feet” pins to high school students at the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) in Kansas City, Missouri. This is Generations’ first time displaying at the NCYC, which sees its largest attendance ever.

This past weekend it was my great privilege to speak at the second annual “Viva la Vida” pro-life youth conference in Dublin, Ireland.
The conference was hosted at Griffith College by Youth Defence—one of the world’s most dynamic pro-life groups—with hundreds of pro-life youth in attendance from across Ireland and throughout Europe.
After flying through the night from Chicago, I arrived in Dublin the morning of Friday, November 5 with just enough time to snatch a quick one-hour nap before meeting Crossroads’ Dave Bathon and a group of young pro-lifers from Belgium in the lobby of my hotel.
Together we walked two miles to a protest at the Marie Stopes abortion referral center, where we met up with the regular prayer warriors at the facility. Abortion is illegal in Ireland, but Marie Stopes arranges package deals for Irish women to get abortions in England and the Netherlands. [Continue reading ...]

October 16, 2004—The League’s youth outreach division, Generations for Life, hosts its first annual Youth Leadership Conference at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Chicago, following up on a successful youth conference held in March. Teens pro-life leaders from as far away as Massachusetts hear talks from Joe Scheidler, Eric Scheidler, John Jansen and GFL Director Annie Casselman (pictured above), who describes how to organize and run a pro-life club with the aid of GFL’s new Pro-Life Curriculum.
