The youth group from St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Dixon, California deserves a hand for standing up — literally — to Planned Parenthood when the abortion giant tried to make inroads in their community by setting up a harmless looking booth at the town’s street fair this weekend.
When the church’s youth minister, John Johnson, found out the booth, he immediately sent out text and Facebook messages to everyone in the church’s youth with a simple invitation:
Meet in 10 minutes at street fair to protest Planned Parenthood.
Within minutes, seven members showed up and began praying on the sidewalk in front of their booth, and taped signs to their shirts making it clear that abortion is what Planned Parenthood is all about.
Planned Parenthood’s pink-shirted staffers, of course, weren’t happy. [Continue reading ...]
Some time in the next few weeks, my wife is planning to have her pregnancy terminated.
Now, lest anyone be scandalized that a Pro-Life Action League employee would say such a thing, let me clarify:
My wife, Jocelyn, and I are expecting our 6th child. As of this Friday, she will be 39 weeks pregnant.
And, as babies growing and developing in the womb have a tendency of doing, our baby will, some time soon, be born. After this happens, suffice it to say, my wife will no longer be pregnant.
Thus, her pregnancy will have been terminated.
This occurred to me as I read a recent post by Life Dynamics’ Mark Crutcher, who wrote about the “rhetorical fraud” used by pro-choicers in which the term “pregnancy termination” is used as a euphemism for “abortion”:
The pro-life movement is not now, has never been, and will never be, opposed to pregnancy terminations. We are fully aware that all pregnancies terminate.
Remember this the next time [Continue reading ...]

March 27, 1984—League Director Joe Scheidler begins the first of two days of talks to students at Gordon Tech High School on Chicago’s north side. Joe upsets teachers with one of his remarks while addressing the humanity of children conceived by rape. He asks a student if he can say for certain that he was not conceived in an act of rape. The students get the point, but their teachers miss it.

I was privileged to give a series of talks this past Friday at the Archdiocese of Omaha’s pro-life teen conference held at V.J. & Angela Skutt High School in Omaha.
The Archdiocese’s Respect Life Apostolate organized the event, which served as a reunion for high school students who attended the Archdiocese’s March for Life pilgrimage in January, and to encourage them to ramp up their involvement in pro-life activities. That’s why the Apostolate selected “The Next Step” as the very appropriate theme for this conference.
The first talk I gave was titled “Making the Case for Life”, which dovetails with the League’s Sharing the Pro-Life Message handbook — copies of which were given to everyone present. This talk was very well received, as evidenced by student Clare Ellis, who commented, “This talk helped me as well as others in understanding better how to talk to people that are pro-choice and have a better discussion.” [Continue reading ...]
Last year when I visited Dublin, Ireland to speak at Youth Defence‘s outstanding Viva La Vida conference, I got to know some of the great pro-life youth of Europe, including a fantastic group from Belgium who are on fire for the pro-life cause.
In fact, the first thing I did after snatching an hour’s nap after my overnight flight was to meet up with the Belgians—including a dynamic young pro-life leader named Liesbeth Ronsmans—and head over to Dublin’s abortion referral center for a protest.
We spent most of the day together, and Liesbeth nearly wore me out with her questions about activism, talking to the press, dealing with police—everything she would need to know to bring dynamic grassroots activism to Belgium. [Continue reading ...]
This weekend, I’m heading to Nebraska to give a series of talks at a conference Friday night sponsored by the Archdiocese of Omaha Respect Life Apostolate.
The idea behind this conference is to serve as a reunion for high school students and young adults who attended the Archdiocese’s March for Life pilgrimage in January, and to encourage them to ramp up their involvement in pro-life activities. That’s why the Apostolate has selected “The Next Step” as the very appropriate theme for this conference.
It’s an honor to be a part of this event, and I’m really looking forward to it. Please say some prayers for me and the pro-life teens of Omaha!

March 13, 2004—Generations for Life, the youth division of the League, holds a Spring Conference at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Chicago. A group of 25 teens receive training in sidewalk counseling and hear talks on the importance of activism and how to communicate the pro-life message effectively. Irene Vickers (pictured left) tells her story of getting an abortion shen she was a teen, and how she finally turned her life back to God.
The Pro-Life Action League and our youth outreach, Generations for Life, have partnered with Live Action, Students for Life of America, Rock for Life, Right to Life of Central California, Susan B. Anthony List, Teen Defenders, Cherish Life Ministries, Stand True, Students for Life of Illinois, LIFEsocal, and Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust in sponsoring the Expose Planned Parenthood Video Contest to show America why America’s largest abortion chain must be defunded.
You’ve seen the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood aiding and abetting child sex trafficking, covering up statutory rape, and lying to young girls.
You’ve read the reports about how Planned Parenthoods across the United States have been charged with crimes ranging from covering up illegal late term abortions, not reporting the rape of young girls, and falsely billing the state of California.
Now it’s time to create your own video to tell Congress why they should defund Planned Parenthood. [Continue reading ...]
In response to the “Walk for Choice” in Chicago sponsored Saturday by the Illinois Choice Action Team, over 200 members and friends of the Crusaders for Life teen pro-life club — many of whom belong to St. John Cantius Parish in Chicago — organized a Pro-Life Flash Mob in Daley Plaza to counter the event.
They then followed the same route as the pro-choicers, but on the opposite side of the street:

“Awesome!” “Really and truly a great experience!” “I loved it!”
These are just some of the comments that sum up the reaction of the 140 teens and adults who attended TeenSpeak 2011 on January 29—the largest crowd we’ve ever had at a TeenSpeak conference!
The day began with a fascinating talk by former Planned Parenthood counselor Linda Couri entitled “The Choice Driven Life”. With a unique perspective as a former abortion industry insider, Linda shared how she first got involved with Planned Parenthood out of a well-intentioned sense of compassion for women, but one that she later realized was deeply misguided. Now completely pro-life, Linda has come back to the Catholic faith, and now works with Project Rachel, the Church’s post-abortion ministry.
The audience loved Linda’s talk. Chloe Smith, a senior at Glenbard East High School, commented that it was “so interesting being able to hear about what goes on in the head of someone who worked at Planned Parenthood.” [Continue reading ...]
