Planned Parenthood supporters surrounded with pro-life signs at Federal Plaza [Photo by Sam Scheidler]
Last Wednesday, I discovered that Planned Parenthood was planning a “Rally for Women’s Health” on Federal Plaza in downtown Chicago on Friday, February 25. Planned Parenthood is on the ropes right now. They’ve never faced opposition like they’re facing in the current attempts to cut their Federal funding, and they’re freaking out. As such, we here at the League knew we couldn’t let them hold their rally unopposed.
With only two days notice, time was short, so our staff leaped into action planning a counter-protest. We alerted as many of our supporters as we could via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter and phone and developed a piece of literature to hand out to passersby explaining “What’s Wrong with Planned Parenthood.” Read past the break for audio, video, news coverage and to download your own flyer! Just when Planned Parenthood thought they had seen everything Live Action had on them, Lila Rose and company dropped another video this morning, and it is a doozy.
In this video you’ll see a Planned Parenthood of New York employee engaged in such nefarious behavior as telling a couple she thinks are a pimp and a prostitute working underage illegal immigrants that they should lie and claim to be the girls’ legal guardians so they can get a discount! Watch the video after the jump. [Continue reading ...]
Last Saturday, I led over 50 pro-lifers in a protest of the Medical Student for Choice 18th annual convention.
Not only did we have a great turnout in a driving snow storm, not only did hundreds of people see the truth about abortion, but we had a special surprise for our opponents: a spy inside their convention.
We’re putting together a report on his findings that I’m eager to share with you as soon as possible. Until then, check out this video of the protest featuring commentary from pro-life medical professionals.
Last week, League Executive Director Eric Scheidler traveled to Dublin, Ireland to speak at the Viva la Vida youth conference put on by Irish pro-life leaders Youth Defence.
While he was there for the conference, Eric joined Stand True Ministries‘ Bryan Kemper in leading a group of students from across Europe in some American-style pro-life activism outside the Marie Stopes abortion referral center in Dublin.
Eric took some video of the protest that we’re happy to share with you here. He was especially excited to meet the vibrant, motivated young people from Belgium, Germany, France, Ireland and elsewhere you’ll see in the video who were so energized to fight abortion in their homelands.
Last night, the city of Aurora, Illinois held a hearing asking for public input on proposed changes to their “Peddling Ordinance.” The problem stems from a glut of unwanted advertising newspapers piling up on local citizens’ porches.
But rather than restricting unwanted newspapers, the solution the city has proposed for this problem stands to muzzle free speech in our community by requiring citizens to seek the government’s permission to exercise their 1st Amendment rights!
Find out more about the egregiously unconstitutional and undemocratic changes in Eric Scheidler‘s comments in the YouTube video above and in my blog post on the previous hearing on this topic. Also be sure to check out the local news coverage linked below and leave your feedback in the comments sections, both here and at the newspapers’ websites.
Check out this video of League Executive Director Eric Scheidler speaking at Monday’s Personal PAC awards luncheon about this dastardly pro-abortion political action committee and their misdeeds.
You may remember yesterday’s post about Joe Scheidler’s trip to Durango, Colorado last week to oppose an abortionist who has privileges at a Catholic hospital.
I’m pleased to be able to share this video of the protest and Joe’s talk there. It’s an inspiring look at a very successful protest. Check it out:
The public hearing in Aurora City Council chambers [Photo by Matt Yonke]
I have a cautionary tale today about the need for average citizens like you and me to keep tabs on what our local governments are doing.
We first became aware of that need in the summer of 2007 here in Aurora, Illinois when Planned Parenthood snuck the largest abortion clinic in the country into our town right under the nose of our city government without so much as a word to the public.
Yesterday, an e-mail update alerted our office to a public hearing on a proposed change to the city of Aurora’s peddling ordinance. Cities make changes to their codes all the time to deal with new problems, and on the surface it looked like this change was a simple response to the problem of unsolicited newspapers and fliers being left on people’s lawns, porches and doors. But there was a lot more than meets the eye going on in this ordinance. Be sure to read past the break for video of Eric Scheidler’s remarks! [Continue reading ...]

Do you recognize this man? This is the student from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago who attacked our signs and tried to steal my camera, right after I shot this picture of him.
As I distributed literature in downtown Chicago last week, I heard some crazy excuses for not taking my pamphlet (and thus educating themselves about abortion).
My top two favorites were, “I’m too old to have children” and “I’m not an American, so I try to stay out of it.”
It’s like people think they’re not allowed to take a position on abortion because they’re not planning to have one. This is one of the pro-aborts favorite arguments: “If you don’t like abortion, don’t have one.”
During the League’s Face the Truth Tour yesterday in Evanston, Illinois, I took a few moments to offer a suggestion on how to respond when people object to this particular pro-life campaign. My assistant Matt shot this footage and edited the video.
