Face the Truth Tour on Daley Plaza, downtown Chicago [Photo by Sam Scheidler]
The Pro-Life Action League’s 2011 “Face the Truth” Tour was a huge success, changing hearts and minds on abortion across the Chicagoland area.
The Tour kicked off on Friday, July 8 and visited 9 sites in Chicago and 14 cities across the suburbs with graphic photos of abortion to show the public the true face of our country’s greatest moral atrocity.
The most striking aspect of this year’s Tour was that it ran like buttered clockwork. There were literally no significant problems from passersby, police or our opposition. Two sites had to be changed last minute due to construction, but even there, people found the new sites and turnout was great.
Police in every municipality we visited were friendly and helpful—at some sites they didn’t even show up! Only 2 sites saw counter-protesters (and those a paltry handful) and feedback from passersby was overwhelmingly positive.
The rest of the League’s staff and I will be sharing more stories of the Tour throughout the coming days, but there was one story that just couldn’t wait to be told. [Continue reading ...]
This Friday, July 8, marks the start of the Pro-Life Action League’s 12th annual “Face the Truth” Tour across northeastern Illinois.
Since 2000, the League has conducted a 10 day tour covering a huge swath of territory across the state of Illinois. At each stop, League staff and volunteers line a busy intersection with graphic pictures of abortion to show the public the truth about this deadly procedure. Get the full Tour itinerary here and don’t miss the League’s new 2 minute video explaining the Face the Truth concept and answering some common objections. [Continue reading ...]
Postcard sent to PostSecret.com [Click for larger version]
A post on the website PostSecret.com recently caught my attention. The concept of the site is simple: readers mail in postcards with their secrets and they are posted anonymously for all the world to see.
The very existence of the site points out the deep-seated human need to confess our sins and, not surprisingly, the secrets on the site occasionally deal with abortion.
I can’t recommend visiting the site as many of the secrets currently posted are a little too explicit, but I thought this one was worth sharing. You can see the secret in question to the right.
The text reads:
If you were pregnant when we broke up, I hope you kept the baby. Although I am pro-choice, I would rather have a living baby that hates me (and could ruin me now) than to have a dead child.
Last week the an AP article highlighted possible new methods of prenatal genetic testing, speculating on the effect these might have on pregnancy. Upon reading this, “Sophia,” a writer for the Abortion Gang blog, reflected:
Genetic testing, now and in the future, is an issue that is worth consideration and public acknowledgement, but getting lost down the rabbit hole of spooky unknowns is a waste of time and distorts the reality of women today.
But are fears about genetic testing leading to abortion for the creation of “perfect” children really going down the rabbit hole? Are these fears something we ought not worry about yet based on the “reality of women today”? [Continue reading ...]
The Jaycees in Palatine, Illinois have told the Palatine Area Catholics Respect Life organization that they can’t carry their usual banner (pictured right) in the Fourth of July parade this year—because it has a picture of an unborn baby on it!
Despite the fact that the sign received applause and standing ovations along the parade route last year, the sign has been vetoed.
The pro-lifers were told they could replace the fetus with a picture of a pregnant woman, and march with the 80 other entries. But the group’s co-founder, Martin Kelley, refused the offer, saying it defeats their purpose. The Jaycees claim they made a mistake last year by allowing the picture to be used, but claim they didn’t see a clear image of it. The story is catching the media’s attention and was featured today on the Huffington Post.
Now that the Jaycees have taken a good look, they have determined that the picture “crosses a line.” You can call the Jaycees at 847-604-0288 and let them know that there’s nothing offensive about unborn babies, and the banner should be allowed in the parade.

One of the submissions to NARAL's photo petition
Poor NARAL. They thought they had a great idea: Encourage supporters to directly upload photos of themselves as a “photo petition” to Congress. They were supposed to send the message to “end the war on women.”
As usual, the pro-aborts underestimated the number of pro-lifers who are out there and their determination to show the real war on women.
The 2,075 pages of photos they’ll have to delete this morning suggest they really underestimated the pro-life movement!
That’s right–You have to go all the way to page 2,075 to return to their “serious” sign collection! [Continue reading ...]
UPDATE: 9:15pm: I had to scroll to page 141 of their photos to get past all the pro-life responses! Like the commenter below said–someone must have gone home for the night! They’ll have quite a task ahead of them in the morning…
NARAL Pro-Choice America is looking for photos as part of a “photo petition” to Congress to put a face on “choice”. Their website invites people to:
Join our photo petition today.
1. Make a sign. Make a sign from scratch or download and print out our sign.
2. Take a picture of yourself holding the sign. You can use your camera, a webcam, or even a photo from your phone is fine!
3.
Email your picture to hall33ready@photos.flickr.com[Update: 5/26, 9:52am: pictures sent to this address are no longer appearing on NARAL's Flickr site.] – a unique address that will automatically upload your photo to NARAL Pro-Choice America’s Flickr site. (You can use the subject line to give your photo a title and the body to add a description.)
The problem for them, though, is that pro-lifers have decided to participate in the “petition” also.
In fact, here’s what I saw when I went to NARAL’s page advertising the event: [Continue reading ...]

May 24, 1990—League staffer Andy Scholberg (pictured right) is rebuked by a federal judge for seeking to join an ongoing court case involving efforts to ban experiements on unborn babies. Andy tries to join the case on behalf of his own unborn child. The judge refuses his petition, and is outraged that her decision would be questioned. She even goes so far as to call the League’s efforts to become party to the case “bizarre,” when what is truly bizarre is that experimentation on unborn children would have to be banned in the first place.
You may remember the Pampers “Hello Baby” iPad app released last year to universal acclaim from pro-lifers.
And now, Pampers has produced this commercial:
