The Pro-Life Action League is excited to announce an affiliation with Matthew Kelly’s Dynamic Catholic apostolate. Let me tell you a little bit about this opportunity.
Last spring my daughter Cathy invited me to join her family for a talk by Matthew Kelly at a large parish in suburban Chicago. It was the third day of the mission and the church was packed to capacity—nearly a thousand people, many of whom had come for the first two days as well.
Long-time activist and friend of the League, Dan Gura, has published his first novel: God’s Avenger: Michael The Imprecatory Angel.
The story is a very timely one: God uses an angel to answer the prayers of the faithful, who petition Him for an end to abortion. Dan is very clear, though, that their prayers are answered by God and not by some action of their own.
Scripture plays an important role in the book and the reader is treated to two men of the cloth who could not be more different in their respect for the Word. [Continue reading ...]
On Saturday I attended the annual Respect Life Conference for Parish Committees, hosted by the Respect Life Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago (and co-sponsored by Couples for Christ Foundation for Family and Life).
The theme was Pope Benedict’s Encyclical, Caritas in Veritate (Charity in Truth).
It was an excellent conference covering a variety of topics, including: Leadership, Resources the Respect Life Office offers, and Assisted Suicide. [Continue reading ...]
One way to influence people you will never meet is to get pro-life books into your library. This involves a fairly small time commitment on your part, but has the potential to reach many people you will never meet on this side of Heaven.
Some libraries may have boxes on their homepage where you can suggest books they should buy. Or maybe they have a suggestion box you can slip a note in next time you go.
You may want to talk to your library about their donation policy before you buy the book yourself, since you’ll want to make sure it gets on the shelf. [Continue reading ...]

Particularly since this list is not (and could never be) exhaustive, I hope you will jump in and share your thoughts about which pamphlets you prefer to use when counseling so we can learn from each other.
First of all, you definitely need a pamphlet directing a woman to the nearest Pregnancy Resource Center. The PRC nearest the clinic may be willing to supply you with these pamphlets, though this can often be too expensive for them to provide.
The Pro-Life Action League’s Sharing the Pro-Life Message Handbook is back in print, and you can order your copy today for only $2 including shipping!
Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life received the very first copy and had this to say about Sharing the Pro-Life Message:
I’m proud to say that I got one of the very first copies of Sharing the Pro-Life Message, and I think it’s one of the most useful pro-life tools I’ve seen. I recommend that every pro-lifer keep one handy for that inevitable situation when you get the chance to share the truth about abortion and win another soul for the culture of life.
This newest printing has been updated with the latest available facts and statistics on every aspect of the abortion issue. Never struggle to remember a fact or answer an abortion related question again!
Order yours today in the League’s Activism Store and consider picking up an extra copy for a pro-life friend or loved one. Discounts are available for bulk orders.
It’s such a thrill to see tens of thousands of people in Washington, DC each year, proudly proclaiming that abortion is wrong and is never the answer to a crisis pregnancy.
Unfortunately, the other 364 days a year, a large number of those people are no longer visible. I think in many cases they just don’t know where to go to continue to proclaim the message of the March for Life.
Fortunately, there are many opportunities. One of the most significant ways we can continue to spread the Gospel of Life is by praying outside of an abortion clinic.
Out praying at the Planned Parenthood facility in Aurora, Illinois last Friday, I was reminded of an important point made by Fr. Frank Pavone in a talk once. Father Frank asked what the first step of any effective pro-life effort must be. As I would guess most in the audience did, I thought, “Prayer.” But Father Frank took it deeper than that.
He explained that the first thing we must do, if our pro-life witness is to be effective, is to repent. One might think that to repent is to pray, but repentence per se is an act prior to prayer. It is the admission, in the dark of one’s own heart, that one has sinned, and stands in need of healing grace. [Continue reading ...]
On Sunday, August 30 the prayers of the pro-life community in Illinois’ Fox Valley were answered with the dedication of Waterleaf Women’s Center. The new pro-life pregnancy center is less than a quarter mile from the massive Planned Parenthood abortuary opened two years ago under a cloud of lies and deception.
Ever since Planned Parenthood opened, pro-life counselors on site have felt the urgent need for a nearby pregnancy center that would offer help and compassion to abortion-minded women. That need will be fulfilled by Waterleaf.
Regardless of how many Americans want absolutely nothing to do with their tax dollars going to fund abortions, some obstinate pro-abortion Democrats haven’t given up the fight to try to force us to do just that.
