Chicago, Ill.—”We deplore the killing of George Tiller on Sunday morning,” said Joseph M. Scheidler, national director of the Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League.
“It has always been my philosophy that we convert abortionists,” said Scheidler. “As activists committed to saving lives, we vigorously oppose violence.”
Scheidler once shared a taxi with Dr. Tiller as both were headed from the airport in New Orleans to the National Abortion Federation Convention.
Chicago, IL—Americans for Life, a non-denominational coalition founded to defend the sanctity of human life at all stages, has organized a protest on Friday, May 22 in downtown Chicago.
The rally and march will be a demonstration against the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) and U.S. Government funding of abortion worldwide. Americans for Life will also stand in support of traditional marriage and the Defense of Marriage Act.
(Chicago, Ill.)—In response to Notre Dame University inviting President Barack Obama to deliver the commencement address there May 17, the Pro-Life Action League will erect two large billboards located near the South Bend, Ind., campus.
The billboards, to go up May 4 on the Indiana Toll Road, Interstate 80/90, will read, “NOTRE DAME: Obama is pro abortion choice. How dare you honor him,” along with a picture of a baby in utero sucking its thumb. They also will list a Web address, NotreDameProtest.com, where visitors can get information on the protests planned during the graduation weekend at Notre Dame.”
(Chicago, Ill.)—Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League says grassroots efforts to defeat HB-2354, or the Illinois Reproductive Health and Access Act, have stopped the bill from coming to a vote today.
Today was the deadline for the Illinois House of Representatives to vote on the act, which pro-lifers have referred to as Illinois’ version of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA).
“The bill did not pass by the House deadline for sending bills to the Senate,” said PLAL communications director Eric Scheidler. “The sponsors of the bill can still try for an extension on the deadline, among other things—but clearly, they don’t have the votes. They don’t have the votes because pro-lifers came together as never before in Illinois to oppose this pernicious bill.” [Continue reading ...]

Eric Scheidler, the communications director of the Pro-Life Action League and leader of the opposition to Planned Parenthood in Aurora, will receive this very special award at the breakfast. Heading up the League’s Aurora office, Scheidler has spent countless hours in organizing and energizing Aurora citizens and surrounding communities to stand up against the killing of unborn children by Planned Parenthood.
(Chicago, Ill.)—Pro-life and pro-family organizations from across the country have assembled a coalition to fight HB-2354, or the Illinois Reproductive Health and Access Act. The coalition calls the bill Illinois’ version of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), and has launched a Web site, www.StopIllinoisFOCA.com, to give citizens who oppose the bill a place to connect with each other and receive updates.
“This ‘Illinois FOCA’ takes away the most basic restrictions on abortion that even a majority of pro-choice advocates support,” said Eric Scheidler, communications director of the Pro-Life Action League, one of the organizations leading the grassroots mobilization. “We joined together and developed StopIllinoisFOCA.com because we needed a place where people could get all the facts about this heinous bill, and take action against it.” [Continue reading ...]
Chicago, Ill.—Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League and its national director are calling on Notre Dame University President, Rev. John Jenkins, to withdraw his invitation to Barack Obama to deliver a commencement address there on May 17.
“Over the first two months of his administration, Barack Obama has established himself as the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history,” said League National Director Joe Scheidler, himself a graduate of Notre Dame, a Catholic university. “My alma mater should not be providing a platform for this president.”
(Chicago, Ill.)—Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League is calling on both sides of the abortion debate to oppose a bill that passed the Illinois House of Representatives Human Services Committee on March 11. PLAL views the bill, HB-2354, or the Reproductive Health and Access Act, as Illinois’ version of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA).
“This ‘Illinois FOCA’ would overturn the modest restrictions on abortion in our state that the vast majority of Illinoisans support, like the Parental Notification Act of 1995. Even the state ban on partial-birth abortion — a practice nearly everyone abhors — would be overturned by HB-2354,” said Eric Scheidler, PLAL communications director. [Continue reading ...]
CHICAGO, Feb. 24 /Christian Newswire/—Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League says a report released today by the Guttmacher Institute takes aim at the poor by recommending more government spending on programs to reduce the birth rate.
(Chicago, Ill.)—On Wednesday, the Pro-Life Action League will protest what it calls Illinois’ version of the Freedom of Choice Act.
While Planned Parenthood of Illinois hosts a community forum at Eola Community Center in Aurora, Ill., in support of the proposed Reproductive Justice and Access Act of Illinois, PLAL, which has opposed the Aurora Planned Parenthood since it opened in 2007, will be standing outside the center to speak out against it.
