When we found out that NARAL was holding their annual “Power of Choice” fundraising luncheon in downtown Chicago October 5th, we knew we had to protest it.
And when we found out that the keynote speaker is HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, then we really knew we had to protest it.
You may recall that while she was governor of Kansas, Sebelius filled her campaign coffers with gifts from her good friend, notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller.
She and her Kansas allies also protected both Planned Parenthood and Tiller from facing public scrutiny in court for illegal abortions and other crimes.
And most recently, as head of HHS, Sebelius ordered insurers to provide free birth control under Obamacare — with NO exemption for religious institutions like the Catholic Church. [Continue reading ...]
March for Life, Berlin, Germany, Sept 17 [Photo by EJS]
On September 17, it was my special honor to participate in the Marsch für das Leben (March for Life) in Berlin Germany, at the invitation of ekztoB leahciM and Jugend für das Leben Deutschland (Youth for Life Germany).
Jugend für das Leben is one of 14 organizations comprising the Budesverband Lebensrecht (Right to Life Federation, or BVL), which has held the March for Life every September since 2006. Michael and I had met at the Viva la Vida conference in Dublin last November, the same event that gave rise to my involvement in the Week for Life in Belgium this Spring.
I arrived in Berlin the morning of Thursday, September 15 with Bryan Kemper of Stand True Ministries, based in Troy, Ohio, with whom I met up at Chicago’s O’Hare airport for the overnight flight to Germany. Bryan and I planned a “buffer day” before the March-related events kicked in, to take the edge off our jet lag and see a little of Berlin. [Continue reading ...]

Joe Scheidler receives the Msgr. John Spreen Warrior Award from Dr. Leonard Rybak of Springfield Right to Life [Photo by Ann Scheidler]
Pro-Life Action League National Director Joe Scheidler was the keynote speaker at the annual Springfield (Illinois) Right to Life banquet Friday, September 23. Scheidler also received the Msgr. John Spreen Warrior Award for his courage in the battle against abortion.
Msgr. Spreen was an outspoken defender of the sanctity of life. During one of his homilies he once played a recording of the “Diary of the Unborn Child.” Some members of the congregation got up and walked out. But Monsignor went ahead and played the recording at each Mass that day, and each time several people walked out.
Springfield Right to Life honors him by presenting three awards each year in his name: The Statesman Award to a pro-life political figure, The Rosebud Award to a behind-the-scenes worker and the Warrior Award to a courageous leader.
Joe and I drove to Springfield early on Friday to spend the day at the Abraham Lincoln Museum prior to the banquet. Springfield Right to Life president Merle King and his wife Betty served as our hosts for lunch and the tour of the museum. The Lincoln Museum is well worth a trip to Springfield and would make a wonderful field trip for students of any age who are fascinated by American history. [Continue reading ...]

The Pro-Life Action League wrapped up the celebration of its 30th anniversary this month, and to celebrate 30 years of hard-hitting, grassroots activism, we put together this short video showing 30 years of pro-life history in just 2 minutes!
Check out the video for one picture of the League’s activism from each of the last 30 years. You’ll see how pro-life activism has developed over the years as well as the spirit of compassion for mothers and babies that has been the hallmark of the League’s work from the beginning.
Thanks for your support over the last 30 years. We won’t stop fighting till abortion becomes unthinkable.
With our summer “Face the Truth” Tour hitting the streets July 8-16, the Pro-Life Action League is proud to present an exciting new video explaining the Face the Truth approach to pro-life activism and why we believe it’s one of the most important tools in fighting abortion. Check it out:
The video was shot on last year’s Face the Truth Tour by the crack team over at Spirit Juice Studios and really captures the League’s unique approach to the tactic in a punchy 2 and a half minute package.
This video is a great way to show your friends or family who might be unsure about joining in pro-life activism that it’s necessary for our culture to see the reality of abortion. It also shows that regular people from all walks of life take part and that it’s safe and effective.
Share this video and the Face the Truth Tour itinerary with your friends and on all your social networks today. Let’s get people fired up about sharing the pro-life message with Face the Truth!
Next Wednesday, the pro-abortion group NARAL is holding a secretive “members-only” reception in Chicago, and the Pro-Life Action League is going to be there to protest.
Thanks to some pro-life sleuthing, we were able to find out all about NARAL’s reception, including the location, which they’ve been keeping under wraps.
The purpose of NARAL’s reception is to thank Illinois’ pro-abortion Congressmen for opposing what they like to call the “war on women”—their crazy term for pro-life legal efforts like trying to keep taxpayers from having to pay for abortions.
Never mind that half of the 3,400 unborn babies killed every day would grow up to be women. NARAL doesn’t care about them. But pro-lifers do! That’s why the League will be there next week, showing that the real war is being waged against future women—and men—growing in their mothers’ wombs.
Join in if you can, and if you’re not in the area, be sure to tell all your Chicagoland friends and relatives:
Event: Protest of NARAL “members-only” reception
When: Wednesday, June 8th, 5:00 p.m.
Where: The Gage Restaurant, 24 S. Michigan Avenue (map)
The protest will take place on the sidewalk right outside The Gage restaurant, just across the street from Millennium Park.
I hope you’ll be able to join the League as we show NARAL and our their friends in Congress—including Bobby Rush, Jesse Jackson, Jr., Luis Gutierrez, Mike Quigley, Danny Davis and Jan Schakowsky—the truth about abortion.

May 23, 2000—League Director Joe Scheidler does a one-hour interview with Denise Coccialone on “Purely Pro-Life” about the League’s new billboard campaign. The billboards promote a toll-free number for getting help from local crisis pregnancy centers, bearing the adorable image of his toddler grandson, Aaron and the words “Choose Life.”
