Pro-lifers protest Governor Quinn and Personal PAC [Photo by Eric Scheidler]
Illinois “Catholic” pro-abortion governor Pat Quinn presented the “Pro-Choice Leadership Award” at Personal PAC’s annual fundraising luncheon, and the Pro-Life Action League was there to protest.
Despite being called out by all six Illinois Catholic bishops, Quinn obstinately disobeyed and presented the award.
Bearing protest signs reading, Shame on Pro-Abort “Catholic” Quinn and Personal PAC = Abortion, League staff and volunteers staked positions outside all the entrances to the Chicago Hilton and Towers where the event was held.
The League also brought graphic images of aborted babies to make it absolutely clear what the euphemism of “choice” is covering up. [Continue reading ...]
Planned Parenthood’s Aurora mega-center [Photo by Eric Scheidler]
Pro-life activism is work where you don’t always see the fruits of your labor right away.
Sidewalk counseling is a perfect example of that. You may not know till you get to heaven how many people chose not to abort their babies simply by your presence and your peaceful outreach.
But sometimes God gives us the gift of seeing our work pay off here and now. That happened to sidewalk counselor Joe B. last weekend in Aurora, Illinois. [Continue reading ...]
Face the Truth Tour outside the Wrigley Building in Chicago [Photo by Matt Yonke]
Yesterday the League took to two sites along Michigan Avenue in Chicago for the final “Face the Truth” day of 2011.
Equipped with graphic images of the victims of abortion, League staff and 15 volunteers lined Michigan Avenue outside the historic Wrigley Building.
Being in the neighborhood where most Chicago media outlets have their offices made it easier than usual to get press coverage. Several media outlets interviewed League Executive Director Eric Scheidler and WGN radio did some “man on the street” interviews with passersby to gauge their feelings on the subject. What could cause pro-life Christians to join forces with Planned Parenthood?
Lies. Planned Parenthood’s go-to move, and, I believe, the largest reason why Mississippi’s Initiative 26 ballot measure was defeated at the polls yesterday.
The measure, a proposed “Personhood” law, would have declared “every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning or the functional equivalent thereof” to be a person deserving of the full protection of the law. Resulting laws the measure would require, would likely ban all forms of abortion.
There were strong indications prior to yesterday’s vote that the measure stood a very good chance of passing and that many, even most, Mississippians supported the idea. So what happened? [Continue reading ...]
Pro-abortion IL Governor Pat Quinn
On Thursday, November 17, pro-abortion Illinois Governor Pat Quinn will present an award at a fundraising lunch for pro-abortion lobbying group Personal PAC and the Pro-Life Action League will be there to protest with graphic images showing the reality of abortion. Get all the details on the protest here.
We protested this very event last year, but the Governor’s actions are making it even more imperative this year. Check out a video of that protest here.
We at the League were outraged, if not surprised, when we heard that Quinn, a cradle Catholic, would be lending his support to Personal PAC, an organization whose stated mission is “electing pro-choice candidates to state and local office in Illinois.” It would, perhaps, be more surprising had Quinn not received nearly $500,000 in support from Personal PAC during his run for Governor last year. The fight against abortion in America is going fast and furious right now, and the League has three opportunities this month for you to fight abortion in the Chicago area.
This is also a good time to mention the Pro-Life Calendar on the League’s homepage where we list pro-life events from across the country. Contact us with your event information and we’ll put it up for the whole pro-life community to see!
Now, for the League’s November events. First we’ll kick things off next Thursday, November 10 with a Face the Truth Day downtown Chicago. Meet outside the Wrigley Building, 410 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago (Map) for the first site at 9:30 a.m., then head up to the Art Institute, just a few blocks south (Map), for the second site at 11:30. [Continue reading ...]
Life Site News reports a story from Canada the details of which are far too graphic to post here. Read the original story at your own discretion.
In short, a father and mother covered up their incestuous relationship with their daughter by procuring an abortion and birth control pills for her when she became pregnant by her father at age 12 years old.
Georges Buscemi, president of Campagne Quebec-Vie, told Life Site:
Sexuality has become so trivialized in Quebec. We don’t even bat an eye when a 12-year-old gets pregnant. We don’t ask ‘who did she get pregnant with?’
Indeed, why didn’t the abortionist or the clinic staff ask the obvious questions? The same reason they never do: money. Asking questions just makes their dirty business more complicated than it already is.
Due to the abortion facility’s negligence, authorities were not alerted to the girl’s plight until she summoned the courage to tell a teacher at 13 years old.
And, of course, though unbelievably sad, this story is nothing new. It only adds to the pile of evidence provided by Live Action and Life Dynamics showing Planned Parenthood and other abortionists’ willingness to cover up heinous crimes against young girls.
As Buscemi put it, “Abortion is the ultimate recourse for hiding the evidence of pedophilia.”
The disturbing video below from the stalwarts at Pro-Life Wisconsin blew up when it was posted to HotAir.com yesterday. Take a look:
On Monday I received a call from Pro-Life Wisconsin looking for help acquiring the 911 call audio of this incident from the city. If they’re successful in obtaining that, I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about what happened to the poor woman in the ambulance soon. [Continue reading ...]
Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington
A strange story emerges out of Seattle, brought to our attention by Catholic blogger Mark Shea, that finds Planned Parenthood pitted against their longtime allies at the National Organization for Women (NOW) as well as the hospital establishment.
Swedish Health Services, a secular healthcare organization, and Providence Health & Services, a Catholic healthcare organization, have tried over the last decade to find a way to join forces to provide the best possible medical services at Seattle’s Swedish Hospital. A detailed account of the situation can be found here.
They’re poised to come to a historic agreement that would allow both organizations to do the most good for everyone, but controversy has crept in because, as part of the agreement, Swedish is committing to not perform elective abortions.
NOW is in an uproar that any hospital anywhere would dare to not provide abortions. But Planned Parenthood is actually excited about the move. Why? Why else: money. [Continue reading ...]
Planned Parenthood in Kansas has been under investigation since 2003, spearheaded by former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline. Kline brought charges in 2007 of 107 counts of falsifying abortion records and committing illegal late-term abortions, 23 of which are felonies.
Today the judge in the case granted prosecutors two weeks to re-work their case based on new evidence that records crucial to the case were destroyed in 2005 under the watch of then Kansas governor and current Obama Administration Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius. The League protested Sebelius earlier this month when she spoke at a NARAL luncheon.
It also appears that Planned Parenthood may have falsified records to make it appear that they had complied with record-keeping laws after the fact.
Sebelius was a known ally of Planned Parenthood and notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller, both of whom filled her campaign coffers with large donations, but it’s surprising that even she would sink to the depths of destroying evidence to protect her cronies.
The story is developing and we’ll know more when prosecutors return to court after reviewing the evidence. Until then, get the full story from these reports:
