Stalwart activist Jim Finnegan, who joins the League on our Face the Truth Tour every summer recently led a protest of abortionist Phillip Waterman outside his sprawling estate on the Gulf of Mexico.
Check out scenes from the protest and hear Jim tell the story of another abortionist who quit after Jim led protests outside his home!
Planned Parenthood recently released their annual report [PDF] for the 2009-2010 year, and the numbers revealed some very interesting information.
Jill Stanek reports the downward trend in most of their numbers, making Planned Parenthood look like a company in decline. And, as usual, Jim Sedlak at STOPP has an intricate breakdown of everything the numbers can tell us.
But if you’ve only been listening to Planned Parenthood’s rhetoric for the last year or so, you’d never know they were the largest abortion chain in America. You might think they were a breast exam and cancer screening business who did an abortion once a few years back. [Continue reading ...]
American Family Planning clinic, Pensacola, FL [Photo by Tony Giberson, Pensacola News Journal]
Early in the morning on New Year’s Day, American Family Planning clinic in Pensacola, Florida caught fire. The fire went undetected for several hours as the night was foggy and passersby didn’t notice the smoke.
The building sustained significant damage and a suspect, Alabama resident Bobby Joe Rogers, has been arrested for starting the blaze. So far, no motive has been reported for the crime.
But even days before there was even a suspect, the media had already jumped to the conclusion that this was an act of anti-abortion violence, which may yet prove to be the case.
This is the clinic where Paul Hill murdered abortionist John Britton in 1994, for which he received the death penalty, so it wasn’t surprising to hear that mentioned as speculations about motive fly. But many in the media aren’t playing fair, and worse, they’re not giving people the whole story. [Continue reading ...]
2011 was a huge year in the abortion battle and the Pro-Life Action League was busier than ever fighting abortion on the front lines with hard-hitting grassroots activism.
To show you a sample of what 2011 looked like for the League, we’ve put together this 2 minute video displaying a few of the things we did each month. We hope you enjoy this look back at the last year and that you’ll join us in making 2012 an even bigger year for life!
Every year the Pro-Life Action League brings the light of Christ to the darkness of the abortuary with our “Empty Manger” Christmas caroling day. The video of last year’s event shows just how moving this effective pro-life witness can be.
More and more groups around the country have started holding their own Christmas caroling events at abortion clinics, and now it’s your turn to get involved in this Advent pro-life ministry.
To help you do just that, the League has put together some critical resources that will make your caroling day a success.
The Pro-Life Action League is proud to announce our 9th annual “Empty Manger” Christmas Caroling day Saturday, December 17.
Each year, the League brings the light of Christmas to the darkness of the abortion facility by singing the songs of Christmas right outside their doors.
Join us this year for two tours, one in Chicago and one in DuPage county to make your Advent a pro-life one. [Continue reading ...]
My wife, Erin, who is herself pregnant with our fourth child, pointed me to this amazing talk given by scientist, mathematician, artist, journalist, photographer and all-around Renaissance Man Alexander Tsiaras. In the video, Tsiaras presents a unique glimpse into development of the human body.
Tsiaras, among many other projects in his fascinating life, has developed special lenses and computer programs to give us an inside and up close look at human life as it develops from conception all the way to birth. Check out the video for the stunning detail of the process.
One of the most interesting aspects of the video is Tsiaras’ remarkable admission that how this process occurs, over and over again with very few mistakes, is simply beyond the reach of human understanding. In the video he says: [Continue reading ...]
I was thrilled to hear the report from our colleagues at the Thomas More Society that the Illinois Supreme Court is finally taking up the question of whether the Illinois Parental Notice of Abortion Act of 1995 should finally be enforced. From the TMS blog:
Today, the Illinois Supreme Court agreed to decide a pair of appeals arising out of the ACLU’s latest challenge, based on Illinois’ Constitution of 1970, to the Parental Notice of Abortion Act of 1995—an Act whose enforcement the ACLU has stymied through successive court challenges ever since it became law.
First, the Court ruled it will hear the Attorney General’s petition for review of the Appellate Court’s decision earlier this year, overturning the Cook County Circuit Court’s dismissal of ACLU’s state constitutional challenge to the Act. Second, the Court also granted review of Thomas More Society’s petition, seeking intervention by county prosecutors whom the Act vested with enforcement responsibilities and who contended that the Attorney General was not adequately representing their interests in defense of the Act.
Get the full story at the TMS blog and please say a prayer that this life-saving law would finally get some teeth!
Regions Hospital in MN, which will close its abortion center Dec. 9
One of the best tools in the fight to end abortion in America is making it unavailable.
As we found out when we infiltrated last year’s Medical Students for Choice conference, abortionists are already shaking in their boots because of the dwindling number of doctors performing abortions.
Closing down abortion centers makes it that much harder to obtain an abortion, and a long drive might be the last straw that makes a mother stick it out through a difficult pregnancy instead of going through with an abortion.
Well, we’re happy to report that one of only seven abortion facilities in the state of Minnesota will stop its deadly business early next month! [Continue reading ...]
In the wake of yesterday’s protest of Illinois Governor Pat Quinn’s presentation of the “Pro-Choice Leadership Award” at a pro-abortion political action committee fundraiser, Illinois’ Catholic bishops have asked for a meeting with Quinn to discuss his support for abortion, gay marriage and other issues at odds with the teaching of the Catholic Church.
As we await the meeting, check out some great footage of the protest and pro-life rape victim who chose life, Mary Higgins and get links to all the media coverage after the jump:
