Make Plans Now to Take Part in the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children

NDR 2015_535A few weeks ago we celebrated Memorial Day, honoring the sacrifice of all the soldiers who have given up their lives for our country and the cause of freedom.

It says something good about the United States that we dedicate a day each year to remember these soldiers’ lives.

But tragically, there are other lost lives that America would rather forget all about — the 57 million unborn babies who have been killed by legal abortion over the past 42 years.

That’s why the Pro-Life Action League has teamed up with Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and Priests for Life — to call for the third annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children on September 12.

The Day of Remembrance comprises a series of simultaneous memorial services at more than 40 known gravesites of aborted children throughout the country.

Memorial services will also be held at other memorial sites dedicated to unborn babies, for those who live too far from the burial sites.

Last year prayer vigils were held at over 130 gravesites and memorial sites, and this year we’d like to see that number grow.

There are two ways you help with the Day of Remembrance:

1. Mark your calendar for this September 12 event.

September may seem quite a ways off, but please mark your calendar now and plan to take part in the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children.

2. Consider hosting a memorial service on September 12.

We’re looking for volunteers to step forward to organize memorial services at the 45 sites where unborn babies are known to have been buried, and many leaders are still needed.

You can get a list of all the burial sites of aborted babies here.

If there’s a gravesite near you in need of a local leader, please consider volunteering. We’ll help you every step of the way, from promotion to the memorial service agenda.

We hope to have all the known gravesites of unborn babies covered within the next few weeks. Please prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to help with this special project.

For more information on what’s involved in hosting a local prayer service and how to step up and volunteer, please see here.

If there’s no burial place of unborn babies in your area, you may wish to host a memorial service at another site dedicated to aborted children. You can find a list of these locations here.
