April 18, 1986—League Director Joe Scheidler speaks to the third annual convention of pro-life activist leaders from across the country on the topic of “Working with the Media” in St. Louis, Missouri. During the convention, the group decides on the name PLAN: the Pro-Life Action Network. PLAN and its annual meetings would become a major focus of the NOW v. Scheidler racketeering lawsuit filed later in 1986.
