March 28, 2001—League Director Joe Scheidler and staffer Tim Murphy protest the opening of an exhibit on AIDS at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. Signs in the exhibit falsely claim that condoms are completely effective at preventing the transmission of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Joe and Tim hold signs telling visitors these claims are lies.
