Early Saturday morning the Village of Lake Zurich posted signs announcing the Pro-Life Action League’s Face the Truth Tour.
Well, to be totally honest, the signs warn motorists to “expect delays” because of our “Graphic Photos.” No need to worry, the Village is advising sensitive drivers (like Saturday’s anti-pornography vigilante) that they may wish to alter their route to avoid having their eyes opened to the Truth.
Lake Zurich has the interesting distinction of being the only town we have ever been to that provides its own warning signs a week ahead of time.
They first used them when I brought a group (not affiliated with the Pro-Life Action League, which is not allowed to get involved in elections) to picket the campaign headquarters of Melissa Bean (who I dubbed “the abortion queen”) with graphic signs. The Lake Zurich Chief of Police asked me to alert him to all future pickets so they could place warning signs alerting motorists they may want to alter their routes. They even rerouted the school buses the second time we brought out the graphic signs.

Actually, Lake Zurich has always been good about alerting people to the Pro-Life Action League’s events before they happen. It was a story in a local paper telling about “controversial” pro-life activists coming to town in 2001 that drew myself and my daughter Corrina to participate in our first Face the Truth Tour.
Lake Zurich has traditionally been a great stop on the tour. We have set weekday records for turnouts the last two years. This Thursday, let’s give motorists a traffic jam of Biblical proportions. Remember, the more they’re delayed the longer they have to see our signs. So bring the whole family…we love babies in strollers!
Thursday, July 15th from 9:00 – 10:30
Lake Zurich: Rand Road (Route 12) and Main Street (Route 22). (map)
Lake Zurich will be followed by stops in Palatine at 11:30am (map) and Arlington Heights at 3pm (map). A free lunch will be provided between the second and third stops to all volunteers. See you there—or at one of the many other stops throughout the week!

Well, needless to say I was shocked by the photos as I drove my 6 yr old son to his sports class today. I did not see any signs warning me but then again there is really no way off the street once you are on 22 and stopped at Rand by an awfully long light. I had no way to cover his eyes as he nearly puked in the car. Considering I am in tears as to the thought of what a failure of a mother I must be to have allowed my son to have seen the pictures, I will try not to “personally attack” as you have done to so many others. For 6 years now I have shielded my son from pictures of the war, PG-13 and R rated movies, or any bloody thing that may affect him as he grows up. We do not watch TV so those influences aren’t there either. I talk frank and directly to him whenever it is needed however, there are some things that a six yr old does need to know yet, especially when I haven’t even addressed the whole birds and the bees talk yet. If I want him to see stuff like that, then he would of seen them from ME. I chose to keep things away from him just like many other parents do. I don’t know if any of you have children but I am guessing that if you do, you didn’t take them to see Silence of the Lambs or Friday the 13th when they were 6. You maybe making a statement but to what end? Thousands of children will grow up with horrible images in their mind, those small minds will not link the images to “abortion”, what will they link those images to, death, murder? Are you really out there to make a difference or do you just want to see how many people are “shocked” by the pictures? “Pro-Choice” and “Anti-Abortion” are two different states of mind, like Republican and Democratic. How many people really change their mind about it when you show these pictures or for that matter, just discussing it, it is just not a subject people actually say wow, I never thought of that? Most girls who have abortions have no place to go, they feel alone and feel that is their only choice, many are not educated enough about sex in the first place. Why don’t you work to fix the “real” issues of abortion instead of investing your efforts in a live “reality show”. You may be trying to save all the unborn fetuses but how many children will you damage along the way to get what you want and what will our world become then?

“You may be trying to save all the unborn fetuses but how many children will you damage along the way to get what you want and what will our world become then?”
“unborn fetuses” are the future of the human race!
Kill above and there is no future human race; re “what will our world become then?”
