It’s That Time of Year

Curriculum

With the new school year right around the corner, Generations for Life — the League’s youth outreach — has recently heard from a number of students across the country who are looking for help in getting pro-life clubs started at their high schools.

We love getting these requests, since helping get new pro-life clubs up and running is one of the main reasons GFL exists.

It’s for this reason that we created our Pro-Life Curriculum, which is designed as a manual for forming and maintaining an effective pro-life club.

Curriculum 2

Before I got the job of GFL co-director, I was a high school teacher, and our pro-life club used one of the first versions of the curriculum when I served as its moderator. Once we started using it, it made things a lot easier, because we no longer felt we had to “re-invent the wheel” every time we had to plan a meeting or a club activity.

If you’re looking to get a pro-life club started in your high school — or if you know someone who is — check out our Pro-Life Curriculum, beginning with the chapter on Starting a Pro-Life Club [PDF].

We released our Pro-Life Curriculum nearly four years ago, and I’m amazed at the positive feedback it continues to generate.

A few months ago we received an edifying e-mail from Amanda, the president of the Angels for Life club at Loretto Academy in El Paso, Texas:

I just wanted to thank Generations for Life once again for sending the Pro-Life Curriculum to us! I used it for the last three meetings, and it brought on some great discussions and involvement. I can’t wait for next year to use the entire curriculum!

I appreciate so much the advice you gave. It really helped, and I know that next year will be so much better because of the help we received from Generations for Life. Once again, thank you!

Theresa, a high school student from Illinois, wrote to tell us:

I just wanted to say thank you for putting together the amazing Pro-Life Club Curriculum. It is exactly the approach I need totake to present a persuasive argument to my class. It also solidified once again my pro-life stance. Thank you very much for your efforts in creating such a binder with every possible fact, rebuttal, and pro-life alternative.

If you don’t already have our Pro-Life Curriculum, you can order one here.

And if you do already have one, please tell your friends about it and encourage them to a get a copy for themselves.

And, as always, please feel free to contact us if you ever need any additional advice for starting a club. We’d be happy to help!
