New League Website Launched Today!
Posted by Eric Scheidler (January 4, 2010 at 5:41 pm)
Today the Pro-Life Action League launched a newly designed website. The most striking feature of the new site is an exciting new design, but the most significant change is the incorporation of a new blog.
The new “Pro-Life Hotline Blog”—named with a nod to my father Joe Scheidler’s call-in newsline—will allow the League staff to offer pro-life news and commentary more quickly and effectively than ever before. It will also allow visitors to the site to comment on pro-life issues.
Other features of the new website include:
- An all-new navigation system to make it easier to find your way around the site
- A calendar of upcoming pro-life events in the sidebar of the home page
- A new activism page summarizing the ways you can get active fighting abortion in your own community
- A more powerful site-wide search form at the top of every page
- Simple forms on the home page for signing up for League e-mails and supporting the League financially
Feedback on the new site design would be greatly appreciated. Comments are now open . . .

It’s great to see this new website launched. I’m proud to have been part of the development team!

Joe, Ann, Eric, Matt, Corrina, and all,
The new site is great! I like the roomier feel and the colors. The ready availability of years of events and comments is a big plus.
I was sorry to see the link to LifeSite News taken off of the lead pages and relegated to the middle of a page of miscellaneous links. I found LifeSite News thanks to the Pro-Life Action League and hope that it can once again be promoted to a more prominent position on your pages.
Happy New Year!

Thanks for the kind words, Rick!
I was sorry to see the LifeSite headlines go, too. At one point in developing the new site I had them in the sidebar on the homepage, but I had to make room for the sign-up/donations/calendar stuff.
But I haven’t given up on the idea of bringing that feature back. Lifesite is a great pro-life resource, the #1 pro-life news site on the web. I’d love visitors to this site to be able to get that newsfeed.
I’ll keep working on it!

Great job on the new site.
For your questions page, consider addressing the topic of “wrongful birth” legal matters and how the PLAL can participate in that discussion.
One point regarding your site, some buttons are getting cut off. For example, on this page the “seach” button graphic only shows the top half. What can I say, I focus on these things

Great work, Eric. Never before has there been a more urgent need for defending the lives of the unborn.
Your new website gives us another powerful tool for that purpose.
Well-done, Eric, Joe and Ann!
May Our Lord be at your side throughout 2010.
Blessings,
Mike

A great new source of news about pro-life efforts. May there be success in using this new weapon in the fight against abortion.
