What’s in the League’s New Life Witness Prayer Book?

It’s such a thrill to see tens of thousands of people in Washington, DC each year, proudly proclaiming that abortion is wrong and is never the answer to a crisis pregnancy.

Unfortunately, the other 364 days a year, a large number of those people are no longer visible. I think in many cases they just don’t know where to go to continue to proclaim the message of the March for Life.

Fortunately, there are many opportunities. One of the most significant ways we can continue to spread the Gospel of Life is by praying outside of an abortion clinic.

There are many groups already actively present at clinics all over the country. You can visit the map we have compiled with 200 Clinic Witness contacts.

If there’s no one in your area, don’t let that stop you, though. Bring a friend and a copy of our new Life Witness Prayer Book and come pray at the foot of the cross.

Prayer Book

The Life Witness Prayer Book is an excellent resource for you to use outside the clinic. This newly updated book aids concentration while outside the clinic and keeps the group’s focus on the babies inside rather than chitchat.

It’s a great tool particularly for those who have never been to the clinic before, because it gives prayers, hymns, scripture, and Rosary meditations to lead the group. The wide variety of meditations allows for multiple hours outside the clinic without repetition or running out of prayers.

Third Edition

The prayer book was originally drafted by Monsignor Reilly, found of the Helper’s of God’s Precious Infants. The Helpers of God’s Precious Infants of Chicago, who operated out of the Pro-Life Action League’s office for many years, revised this book and printed it in the late 90s.

This edition of the book was updated and edited by our staff, and has been endorsed by the Priest Advisory Board of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Changes From Previous Edition

Some major changes from the previous version of the book include:

• updated language to remove the “thees” and “thous” from all except the traditional prayers (such as the Hail Mary and Our Father)
• use of the easier to read New American Bible translation for all scripture passages
• addition of the Luminous mysteries of the Rosary
• addition of a fourth hour of prayer
• new Stations of the Cross for Victims of Abortion

The heavy paper and metal, spiral binding hold up very well, even after many uses. The book should last you for a long time.

The cost for one to four copies is $10 each (plus shipping). Five or more copies are only $8 each—so buy one for everyone in your prayer group!
