September 10, 2007—League Communications Director Eric Scheidler opens his morning newspaper, the Aurora Beacon News, to find a full-page ad by Planned Parenthood accusing the League of having a “well documented history of advocating violence” and rehashing some of the most outrageous allegations made during the NOW v. Scheidler trial—without mentioning that the jury verdict was overturned in the Supreme Court. Eric considers this a sure sign that Planned Parenthood is feeling the heat of community opposition to the massive new abortuary they’re trying to open in Aurora, Illinois.
