July 17, 1982—League Director Joe Scheidler takes a break from meeting with other activists in attendance at the annual National Right to Life Committee convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, to debate notorious abortion advocate and clinic operator Bill Baird, pictured to the right, on WCAU radio across the river in Philedalphia. Baird tried to get the attorney general of New Jersey to stop a convention seminar on non-violent direct action, calling it a session on “how to conduct crimes.”
