Joe Scheidler leading a sit-inToday in League HistoryJune 22, 1985—League Director Joe Scheidler leads a protest and sit-in with over 150 pro-life activists. The group is met by 50 pro-abortion counter-protesters wearing blue sashes that read, “NOW Witness for Women’s Rights.” Two dozen people are arrested. Police treatment is so brutal that doctors are brought to the jail to tend to their wounds.
