June 20, 1985—While attending the National Right to Life Convention in Washington, DC, League Director Joe Scheidler attends a sit-in led by John Cavanaugh O’Keefe during which 30 people are arrested. Joe’s book, CLOSED: 99 Ways To Stop Abortion, is a hit at the convention, and Joe sells out the box full of copies he brought along, despite not having an official table at the event.
