(Chicago, Ill.)—Project Love, a division of Illinois Citizens for Life Charitable Trust, will hold a benefit breakfast at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, at the Naperville Country Club, 25W570 Chicago Ave., Naperville, Ill. Tickets are $20 and reservations (required) may be obtained by calling Mary at (630) 852-5448 or Eileen at (630) 963-8039.
Periodically, the Project Love committee awards its “Caritas” (Love) Award to a person for outstanding service in defense of all human life. Eric Scheidler, the communications director of the Pro-Life Action League and leader of the opposition to Planned Parenthood in Aurora, will receive this very special award at the breakfast. Heading up the League’s Aurora office, Scheidler has spent countless hours in organizing and energizing Aurora citizens and surrounding communities to stand up against the killing of unborn children by Planned Parenthood.
Project Love, based in Downers Grove, Ill., provides financial aid to pregnant women and new mothers in need. Over the past 13 years, it has given more than 700 grants on behalf of women throughout the state of Illinois. Public and private organizations working with women refer those in a financial crisis to Project Love. After screening, a check is sent to the woman’s creditor to help pay a bill.
Various fundraisers organized by the Project Love committee help pay for the grants they provide. Their upcoming breakfast is their latest offering to raise money, and all are invited. New committee members are always welcome as well.
Pro-Life Action League was founded by Joseph M. Scheidler in 1980 with the aim of saving unborn children through non-violent direct action. Through prayer vigils outside abortion facilities and sidewalk counseling, the League reaches out to abortion-bound women and couples with abortion alternatives, confidential counseling and access to pregnancy resources.
Since July 2007, the League has been at the center of the controversy surrounding Planned Parenthood’s flagship abortion facility in Aurora, Ill., dubbed, “Ground Zero” of the abortion battle by abortion supporters and opponents alike. The League has closed eight abortion clinics in Chicago alone and nearly a hundred across the country.
The Pro-Life Action League is a nonprofit organization, supported solely by private donations. For more information, visit www.prolifeaction.org.
