Preparing To Protest Notre Dame Again

Well, the University of Notre Dame administration has done it again. Not content with putting on filthy plays and having heretical teachers indoctrinating the students, they have now invited Barack Obama onto Our Lady’s campus to give the commencement address on Sunday, May 17.

Plan To Protest Notre Dame on May 17

We immediately alerted the University that if this invitation is not withdrawn immediately we will begin laying plans for a public protest in front of the University of Notre Dame that day during the graduation.

We have been forced throughout the years to protest at Notre Dame over the invitation to former New Jersey pro-abortion Senator Bill Bradley to teach there, for pro-abortion Senator Patrick Lahey to receive the Latarae Medal, for the V. Monologues to be conducted on campus, for a gay film festival to be celebrated on campus, and so forth and so on.

Now, indicating once more that the university brain-trust has a very limited concept of right and wrong, good judgment and bad judgment, we must protest their honoring a man who fought in both state and federal legislatures to defeat a law to protect babies born alive from abortion, who since becoming President has already overturned the Mexico City Policy that prohibited the use of U. S. funds to promote and provide abortions in foreign countries; is encouraging efforts to overturn conscience clauses for healthcare workers, has appointed a whole bevy of pro-abortion supporters to high government positions, has invited pro-abortion friend of late-term abortionist George Tiller, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to head the Department of Health and Human Services, and is encouraging use of embryonic stem cells (living human beings ) to be used in medical research, during which they are killed.

Unless this invitation is rescinded we will plan to hold a protest at the University of Notre Dame campus on Sunday, May 17 during the graduation ceremonies. Meanwhile, we encourage our callers to contact the University and let them know of your displeasure with their selection of Obama as their graduation speaker. Email president@nd.edu or phone the University at (574) 631-5000 and ask to speak to the President, Father John Jenkins, C.S.C.

Among other things, Notre Dame in making this selection is going against the US Catholic Bishops’ clear instructions that pro-abortion politicians must not be invited to speak on Catholic Campuses. Barack Obama is a pro-abortion politician and Notre Dame is a Catholic Campus-sort of.

Francis Cardinal George had a powerful letter to the editor in the Chicago Sun-Times Wednesday against HB 2354, the Reproductive Health and Access Act, that would deny health care workers a conscience clause allowing them to opt out of taking part in immoral practices such as abortions, giving abortifacient drugs and devices and taking part in related procedures. While attendees of a national convention on women’s health in Brazil gave an abortionist a standing ovation for aborting the twins of a 9-year-old rape victim, the Archbishop excommunicated the doctor, the girl’s mother and the medical team involved in the abortion. He said the abortion was a grater sin than the rape.

Here is part of the prayer said after the “Our Father” during Mass, a prayer that we should meditate on frequently, because it is the whole story of our life: “…as we wait in joyful hope, for the coming of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.” That’s what it is all about, and that gets us through with a smile on our face, no mater what.
